Is it just me or is all this talk all over the place about DB holding up numbers and Injury update BS. I really would like to hear your take on all this.. Full version please:D I myself find the info to be late to the line moves but in my past experience it seems like the "Wise Guys" always have the information before everyone else anyways. So in My eyes nothing has changed. IS DB overpriced? In my eyes no. If you are a true player, scalper or middler it is the only way to go. Maybe also having GJ for a back up for the slower moving places,But hell everyone is a follower now a days anyway. am I right or am I wrong? The only reason I call you out is I know you follow the screen like I do..:D Waitng for you response. Your dear freind Gold. LMAO!

Most of those people at MW are jackasses that sit around coming up with conspiracy theories trying to make it look like they know wtf they're talking about. They do it day after day on any number of topics.

No, I don't believe DB holds numbers or info. I do think that certain books do this. There is nothing DB can do about this and all these people slamming them to no end are misguided, IMO.

You're exactly right about the info that DB puts out. They have never been first with info and never will be. Any DB subscriber can get info just as quickly by checking any number of sites, and it will always be behind 'certain' people and groups. I agree, how is this such an issue *now*?

Then again, as you know, you don't pay for the info as that's not where the utility of DB lies, and those clowns that blame DB for 'late info' don't have a clue. And even worse, they think that DB is holding the info, when the simple fact is that they don't get it first. Never have.

The accusations of DB holding numbers themselves, and betting the moves is equally absurd. There are many reasons that it makes no sense, but first and foremost is that it would put Dana's wildly profitable business in jeopardy. If you've never been to their offices, you should stop in sometime. They own the big, very nice building that they are in, along with the attached warehouse where they store the rotations.

Strangely (or maybe not that strangely given the brick and mortar competition that they need to protect), Nevada is among the more 'progressive' states in regard to curbing internet betting for their residents and such a high profile company like DB would be totally foolish if they turned their office into a betting ring in cahoots with the syndicates. Not only do they have their moneymaking business at stake, but huge investments in Real Estate as well.

There are other reasons that these accusations are baseless, but I don't feel like writing a book here. So, while it may not be the 'full version', this is generally how I see it.

My thoughts are much the same. Thank you for your time. I think much like you I think there are books out there holding up the number not DB. Like you said if the book is holding up the number what the hell can DB do about it. It just amazes me in the last few months that this talk keeps coming up time and time again and I find it to be comical at best. Like I said earlier there are many of times where you see the board light up and about 2-5 minutes later you get a injury report but really that has been going on for ever. Just the sharps getting the info before the rest of the world...;)

Better info, more timely and accurate in regards to injury reports are to be found on this and other forums. The guys who subscribe to the DB service know from experience the injury reports from DB are often sketchy at best, yet they will cry til the cows come home when they aren't accurate. A little more legwork, such as scouring this or other forums where the games are actually discussed, or turning on the boob tube and watching pregame shows go a long way.

Last night McGrady was a question mark...30 minutes before tip, it was announced on the Knick pregame that McGrady wouldn't start and likely wouldn't see action. Line was still at 4.5 and I expected it to plummet...wasn't until a good ten minutes or so later that the line finally moved.

Hoops,

Totally agree! I always look all over the net for my own injury info in the NBA or what have ya. Really have never relied on DB for that type of info. IMO opinion your flat out lazy if you sit in front of the DB screen waiting for it to tell you who is playing and who is not. I find it and even GJ to be very useful tools regardless of the criticism they get.

I hate to butt my nose into a conversation that I have little knowledge about, but it might just be that the different services stumble upon the information.

I know when baseball transactions are announced, it is hit or miss where you will find out first. Too often the players don't find out until someone calls them to tell them it was seen on the ESPN ticker. Other times the players will hear from their GM within 10 minutes prior of it being announced. Other times, there is a couple hour to even a full 24 delay before things are announced publically. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for it within the baseball world, as most of these transactions are insignificant in the eyes of the masses.

I don't know if this has much bearing on what you guys are discussing, but even for those who are very closely (personally) involved in these baseball issues, it's not always clear cut. Probably a little more regulated in other sports because of the betting aspect, but maybe it's just dumb luck half the time.

Well, now that I have embarassed myself with a dumb uneducated comment, I will shut my yap and the 'pros' handle it.
