These 2 shortstops make Bucky Dent look like Ernie Banks at the plate,
They both suck.
Why not pinch hit in that situation and go for the throat, Descalso is a solid SS.

Back to the start of the thread-Kozma, on a 2-1 count-pitcher unable to command his breaking stuff-you have to be sitting dead red! He gets dead red and the bat never leaves his shoulder-that can not happen! Notice-the next two at bats he hits two fly balls! Nice defensive player but this is the precise reason he will not be starting next year or any other year, for that matter! I know he's young/inexperienced but you have to have a clue/gameplan when you hit! Jord-it was freaky but they got the call right. It was made immediately-the home plate ump deffered to Joyce, at third, never even calling the runner!

Lol, nice twitter-however, it's clearly obvious-they don't understand the obstruction rule. Going back to a base, chalk line, etc is totally irrelevant! The rule is what it is! It's a tough way to end a great game but the call (a correct one) was made immediately! Yes, I had no dog in the hunt!

Disagree. And the immediacy of the call means nothing.

I had zero money on game or series

@Buccigross That photo is irrelevant as Craig could have returned to 3rd at that point making it not obstruction.

This is a funny Tweet, like Craig should've went back to the 3rd base bag instead of trying to score, fans see it through their heart.

I, only point to the immediacy because the home plate ump never makes the call on the runner at home. He points down to third base-he sees the third base ump make the call-he agrees-runner safe-no matter what! There is never a call at the plate! He points to the plate but defers while pointing back to third! In other words-he agrees with the obstruction call. Was the obstruction clearly overt or unintentional? Either way-I think it was the correct call.

Jim Joyce made the right call.

Game over Cards win.

Its an insane way to end the game but is the right call.

Hirschbeck: "Obstruction is act of a fielder obstructing a runner when not in the act of fielding a ball. There does not have to be intent."
