Have to go with Dallas in this spot. Both teams are without their starting center, but Dallas doesn't seem to miss R. LaFrentz too much. The same can't be said of the Lakers in the absence of S. O'neal.

While the Lakers have K. Bryant, the Mavs still have their big 3. There is much more team of a team concept with Nash, Finley, and Nowitzki. 9 points is a lot to give to a defending champion, but without O'neal, this is just another shit team. Easy double-digit win here for the Mavs.

Pick: Dallas -9 (2 units)

Best of luck...

The Lakers supporting players arent coming close to getting the job done. Fisher had his best night shooting against Houston, but he makes every point guard he plays look like the best player ever. Samakai Walker is a mess and Medvedenko isnt any better in the middle.

Dallas is primed to give them a thumping and the only way the Lakers dont get blown out is by either player over their heads, or having Dallas lay off towards the end so as not to give the Lakers ammunition for later down the line with Shaq in the lineup.

I have Dallas - 9 1/2 (1 unit)

Houston/Dallas

Houston/Dallas

Assuming the line will be set at Dallas -6 on Thursday.

Fatigue will not be a factor as both teams played today. Mobley and Francis are awesome for Houston, but that's not enough to contend with the big 3 from Dallas. Don Nelson is doing a great job with the rotation. S. Bradley is playing with confidence for the first time in his career. He is not a major factor, but he is a factor. Yao Ming versus Bradley is a wash. Francis is a load of talent. But that's it, just raw talent...not yet seasoned. Going with the team with chemistry here.

Early Pick: Dallas (up to 9)

O/U could go either way...all depends on if Houston is willing to run. Rudy T. is no dummy. He has coached two championship teams. Dallas has stepped up it's D lately. Again, that goes out the door if Houston is willing to run, which they can. The O/U will be a 2H decision.

Note: K. Bryant is a frustrated player. skillrules is correct. Fade the Lakers. Too much respect from the public for this Shaqless team.

You being from Arlington, you probably have already considered this, but the Rockets ALWAYS play the mavs tough. ANd this years rockets team is pretty good and getting better. This is gonna be a good game, but the streak might end. Don't think it will, but good a shot as any.
