Hudson Valley area.....NY
Maryland -7 over Texas ***
Both teams struggled in the 1st round and then got their act together..Aston has done a great job bringing the Longhorns hoops program back...won some big games in the B-12..has 6'7 Stafford and 6'1..Enemkpali who can score and rebound...there gds are very small...they lost their top player in the beginning of the season and that hurt..but Texas cannot protect the ball....they rank last in the B-12 in turnovers...they avg 18 a game...a total of 605...they are a young team starting 3 sophs and a jr....
Tonite they play the Terps who have the pre-season POY in Alyssa Thomas..she was just named ACC POY for the 3rd time...at 6'2 she can do it all...rebound,post,shoot...Terps have 3 seniors and frosh Brown who can score...they play solid defense and will attack the turn over prone Longhorns..Texas will put 6'7 Stafford on Thomas but she will go to the elbow and draw her out..then drive or shoot her soft lefty jumper...Terps are playing at home where they are 13-2...both losses were to undefeated Notre Dame and UConn..think Longhorns are in trouble tonite..

Louisville -8.5 over Iowa *****
Iowa playing on home court beat Marist but it was a close game until the end..Foxes always play tough in the NCAA's..Iowa has Logic who is outstanding...does everything...shoots,rebounds,etc,etc...they led the B-10 in scoring..balanced attack...but...they are playing Louisville...think many have forgot about last year..with the same team back they plowed thru the Tourney and knocked off everyone...everyone had UConn-Baylor playing for the championship...but Louie knocked out Griner and co and played the Huskies and lost...other them ND and UConn nobody runs transition basketball better then the Cards..they have Shoni Schimmel who can do everything with the ball...reminds me of a Jason Kidd female with no look passes that you have to watch on replay to enjoy..her sister is good and has 3 or 4 other players that are solid...nobody wants Louisville and there 31-4 record shows last yr was no fluke...I know this game is in Iowa but the Cards have won big on the road..they have all their scorers and rebounder's back from lyr...they win this by 15-20..

Mich St +4 over North Carolina **
Guess what the Spartans do good....think of Izzo...one guess...rebound and play D...tied for 1st the B-10 title..NC struggling on offense..they beat UT-Martin in the 1st round and shot 3-18 from the 3....that ain't gonna make it vs Mich St

Texas Am -5 over JMU **
JMU mid major...really good team that scares everyone...upset Zaga in 1st rd...AM playing in College Station...they run and gun..they are female greyhounds..athletic,etc..think JMU is happy about upsetting Zaga...AM was upset last yr in the second round...not going to happen again..esp on your home court
Best Play...Shoni and Louisville

0-1 in the ladies...

Thad...got home late from Vegas last nite..played with the ladies on the plane{ that doesn't sound right}..but like Stanford big over Dayton...thought the line would be around Stanford -3 or 4..sitting at Southpoint casino they put the line up a few hours after their game..-2...so I jumped on it big...no way that line would stay at -2...the next morning at Green Valley it was -2.5..and I think will go up to -3 or 4..... maybe not...I like Baylor +3.5 over Wisky...and Tenn over Michigan..will post them thur morning..

Thanks a lot Box. I'll be getting on that Stanford play ASAP as I believe you're right in that the line (if it moves) will only get worse. As a Big Ten guy and a Wiscy fan, I'm not at all glad to see you on Baylor and Tenn, though I can't say I totally disagree. That said, I'd be slightly afraid to bet against either the Badgers or Michigan given how well they can shoot the three. With the line so close and such young kids, it's so hit or miss playing on/against teams that shoot high volume threes. Just my opinion. Will be looking forward to the rest of your plays as we draw closer to the games. :0008
