Just got back from the Preakness this morning and man, was that some big party. What a great time the infield is, if you enjoy drinking beer, seeing bare breasts and playing the ponies, this is the place to go.

I was just wondering what some of the other big parties across the county that anyone has been to.

i would have to go with, Kentucky Derby, Mardi Gras, some of the football bowls.......

Infield during the weekend of the Daytona 500- Great time. Once again- if you like drinking beer, seeing some skanky women doing crazy things and watching some racing- then this is a great party

Nothing compares to what the Indy 500 used to be like in the old days. Not one day, not one weekend but a whole month of partying. Sex, drugs, beer, rock & roll. It had it all. It is a far cry from what it used to be. Opening day of track 100,000 + people, weekday practice everyone skipping school and work, pole day 200,000 +, carb day 200,000 +, night before the race 16th street who knows how many maybe close to a million partying, race day nearly 400,000 inside the track not including everyone outside drunker than hell. Speedway Indiana used to become the 2nd largest city in our state during may. Kegger after kegger every weekend, the night before I would walk 16th street and drink till i was in a stupor, stagger back to my friends pass out at 5 am and back up at 8am heading back to the track for the race with a cold one in my hand.

I have been to many events but nothing used to compare. I have seen it all at the track. Its a shame what has happened to the race. The partying and crowds was a tradition but like so many things that are not so politically correct nowadays it has become nearly obsolete.

They just ended that didn't they? I thought I saw that on tv.

The game and party goes on some want the name changed. Like that is going to keep people from gettiing drunk and acting stupid. LOL

A cocktail party by any other name is what? Perhaps the Florida-Georgia football game.

Acting on the wishes of officials at Florida and Georgia, the Southeastern Conference has asked TV partners CBS, ESPN and Jefferson-Pilot to stop referring to the annual game as the "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party," said Greg McGarity, UF's senior associate athletic director.

"Each institution wants that tag or that description eliminated," McGarity said. "We definitely feel the less publicity that is afforded to that tag to this game is going to help us curb the activities that have haunted us the last two years."

In each of the past two years, a UF student has died in, apparently, alcohol-related incidents after the game in Jacksonville.

I went to Woodstock '99. Awful experience. Absolutely awful.

Never attend a 3-day concert with no safe drinking water, conducted in 100 degree heat on a FRICKIN MILITARY RUNWAY. It's not enjoyable at all. You just couldn't escape the heat...there was almost no grass on the entire grounds...and the areas that WERE grass were flooded...porta-potty areas with people's shit floating by...god awful. No shade anywhere, no tents, no trees, nowhere to go, just blazing hot sun reflecting off the tarmac. People getting raped, dying of heat exhaustion. People beat up for no reason at all, except because these thugs could get away with it. Frustrated people setting fire to camera towers, buidlings, whatever. Paying $9 for a slice of pizza. Paying $20 for a bottle of water in the parking lot. Not because we wanted to, but because it really was that hot, and there really was no other option.

I have no idea how many people were there. Three or four hundred thousand maybe? Far too many. Horrible.

Been to the Kentucky Derby Infield three times, remember two of them. Been to Mardi Gras three times, hard to compare the two, they all had an an ass load of people, one was spread out, one was cramped on a small street.
