Heard on the local sportsradio show that Hughes is out for Game 3. Hughes' 20 year old brother died of a heart ailment this morning. He is on his way to St. Louis to be with his family....

looks like the plain dealer website just confirmed it as well.

god bless larry and his family, but from a basketball perspective, the cavs are in a world of hurt now. under 187 looks awfully good. cavs could rally around this and put for an inspired effort and win somehow, but tend to think its a game in the 80s no matter who wins.

it's makes sad times even worse when it is a young person who dies...

larry hughes hasn't been much of a contributor offensively in this series - just 8 points in each game

however he is one of the cavs better defenders, and he held hamilton to just 1/7 from the field in the last game

if hughes doesn't come back, damon jones will probably get more playing time, and perhaps even pavlovic and they are both streaky offensive players who could get hot (and they can't play d)

my lean would be toward the over now, although since the game is in cleveland it should be a little slower, but i think the pistons have something BIG to prove (esp against lebron) and will drop their fair share of points
