Las Vegas Hilton's SUPERCONTEST Experiences First Back-to-Back Winner

The Las Vegas Hilton?s annual SuperContest, a professional football handicapping contest, experienced its first back-to-back winner at the conclusion of the 2009 regular season. Steve Fezzik made history when he won the SuperContest for both the 2009 and the 2008 seasons. Fezzik also has the distinction of being the first repeat winner of the contest. His first place prize money for the 2009 contest was $196,800. His final record was 53 wins, 29 losses, and 3 ties for a total of 54.5 points.
Fezzik beat his nearest competitors in the final week of the competition by one-half point. The second place winner, ?Big E,? collected $78,720. The rest of the top 5 included: ?Ace/Jeff Smith,? who won $39,360; ?Killer 1? and ?Seven Year Itch? tied for 4th place and received $19,680 each. A Mini-Contest is also held in the final three weeks of the season and the winner took home $10,000.
The SuperContest is played in the world?s largest race and sports book, the SuperBook? at the Las Vegas Hilton. Contestants pay a $1,500 entry fee prior to the start of the regular professional football season and then pick 5 games each week against the point spread. The SuperContest pays out through 20th place. The prize pool is structured so that contestants receive 100% of the prize money paid in.
The 30,000 square-foot SuperBook? has the capability to broadcast more than 40 different sporting events from around the world at any given time. The SuperBook? features more than 60 televisions, (including 28 giant monitors and one ?eye popping? 15?X20? massive screen), and has a seating capacity for more than 300 guests. It also offers Las Vegas? most extensive wagering menu.
