I love this angle and find it has its most value in the final or middle legs of a Pic 3. By the time the race goes off, most (but not all) of the value is gone but when you bet a Pic 3 or 4 or 6, most of the public hasn't changed their thinking or in some cases, hasn't even looked 2 races ahead. Today at Gulfstream, this is a possible scenario. In the 6th race, Khatef and Robyn's Beauty are both late scratches and both figured to be prominent in the pace. Gold Ballad figures to be the beneficiary here as only one other horse, Wicklow Highlands, figures to push. But I don't think Wicklow can stay with G.B. The other scenario is both jocks grab a hold of their mounts and really slow things down. In either case, I think Gold Ballad should give a good account.
