What's the latest / greatest (FREE) antivirus software?

Got some bug that will not allow me to open any program on my PC... Whenever I click on something, windows antivirus kicks off and says the program/executable is corrupt, then asks me to purchase the software.

Same bug I got a couple weeks ago, right here at MJs. (Not directly, but by checking out some pictures of "hot tennis chicks"!)
:nono:

I'm sure the bug/ad is for that fucking AV whatever. If you click anywhere on that bitch, you get it. I had to trash my whole system, and start from scratch with the re-boot.

I geek at work told me that if I ever see this thing again, hit "cont/alt/del" and dump it through the "end program" method.

I have good anti virus detection, but I had shut it down by accident about 10 minutes prior to getting this thing.

Another thing my buddy told me that made perfect sense:

Buy an external hard drive for about $50, and back all your shit up about once a month. That way....if you ever get any crap like this, you can just pop in the card you have made, and you are good as new.

I do that (external HD) for my work PC, but not my home PC... may need to start

Check out Mozy.com which does online backups, you can store up to 2 gb of data free, and it back's up the data for you. You can restore it from any pc with an internet connection etc.

For my pictures I use Picassa Web Albums
http://picasa.google.com/features.html#utm_medium=embed&utm_source=pwalogin

It allows 2GB of photos, to be stored, works great for me, and I can control access to who see's the pictures

Thats what I have at office--and had total crash a while back and had to get new computer--it worked great and saved my butt. Best thing is you don't have to remeber to back up files each day as it does it automatically.

You and wife coming to the golf outing--yes?

Would be nice if we could have our old team back. :)

Wayne we will be coming back from a cruise out of Miami, so we (I) plan on driving in from Miami and plan to be there. We will have the two kids with us, so not sure what they will be doing. Does the casino have an outdoor pool like belterra did?
