I just took a peek and audibly laughed when i saw that the Tarheels are favored tonight by 18 points. No way I'd lay that kind of chalk with this team against ANYONE. The Heels could be playing Coppin St and not cover 18 in a reliable way. They just don't blow teams out very often.

I also agree with your original post. I didn't watch a lot of the game, got home late last night. If I played it, I would have taken Maryland.

The game was around 8-10 points midway thru 2nd half. Zeller shot 23 free throws and I guess MD coach wanted it called both ways after contact on a made layup.....a quick technical and a couple more possessions and the game turned into a blowout.

All those FT's for Zeller combined with the scrubs hitting some late baskets....no way Carolina should have come close to covering this line.

Actually we should have been up close to 17-20 points at half, even Bilas who is as good as it gets made the comment. We missed many bunnies, etc.

Your right...I never really factored in "what should have happened" before I started watching. Also, I have no idea about the fouls, its just usually at least a little bit of bullshit when one guy shoots over 20 free throws....I'd have said it about Duke so I said it about Carolina.

Can't wait for Saturday. I've got to think the line is pretty close to a pick....maybe even UNC -1 or -2. Should be fun but a game I'd hate to lose....reg season title on the line!

Only reason I posted about the game at all is because I'm a Tarheel. I thought the line should have been in the 12-14 range. When I saw 18+, I was just taken aback a bit.

Funny thing is...when I saw 18 and had some other things to do....figured I wouldn't make it a priority to watch b/c we'd win easily and set up Sat winner take all.

Got home about halfway thru 2nd and it was still very much a game, I think we were up 8.

Saint, I think you misread what I wrote. I was criticizing myself for saying what "should have happened" since I barely watched the game and didn't factor in all the stuff I didn't see in the entire first half.

Man....its hard to even be humble on this board sometimes.....lol
