What is the best seed to repair some dead spots in my lawn?

Just got done using Scott's Patchmaster and had zero luck.

Any tips are greatly appreciated.

what type grass ya have as the foundation..

aeration/seeding/fert right around the corner..2nd week Sept for me here in Va.Beack..

just as easy to do all or some then for you I would guess.

different grasses do well in various climates.

I prefer tall green dark fescue..

You would be smart to call your local John Deere feed and seed store to get their favs.

:00hour $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$...just around the corner...

need 4 guys with weak minds and strongs backs for 2 weeks...

I did a few in my yard 2 weeks ago--used Scotts Starter soil (which has fertilizer in it ) and spread it about 1 inch thick and then raked in grass seed--watered it every day sometimes twice and in about 10 days had grass growng. Waited until the days cooled off and we had nice cool evenings. Early Sept is a good time to grow grass. GL

Hawk, I'll give your method a shot.

Thanks to you both.
