Three nationally televised early games:
Georgia Tech (PK) @ Clemson
Michigan State (-13 1/2) vs. California
Miami (-37) @ Temple
I love Georgia Tech in the first game. Nobody has seen Georgia Tech play this season. Everyone saw Clemson lose a close one at Georgia last week. Clemson opened as a 2 point favorite at home. It appears to me that the smart money is going on Georgia Tech.
Michigan State and California both sport 2-0 records. The Spartans are ranked #15 in the nation. The Spartans opened as a 14 1/2 point favorite at home. When push comes to shove, who are you going to lay your money on, Michigan State or Cal? I think most people would answer Michigan State, based on the pre-season expectations for both teams. Cal was 1-10 last year! A play on Cal might be worth a shot.
I think a lot of people got burned on the Miami/Temple game last year. The Canes won 38-0, but didn't cover the number. I think it was 42 or 43. Miami will be without star receiver Andre Johnson. Definite letdown for Miami after waxing Florida in the swamp last week. In bettors minds, I think it's Temple or pass. The first half line is Miami -21. Seems to good to be true! May lay a small amount on Temple in the first half.
Opinions are always welcome. Good luck today!
