Just what we need: a megalomaniac in charge

After watching the GOP primary race, ridiculous till now, the Republicans seem to be settling on a permanent front-runner, Newt Gingrich. Most professional Republican politicos of reasonable mind have alarm, fear and disgust at the thought of a President Gingrich.

The nation is so fed up with President Barack Obama's constant jaw boning of reasonableness on important issues from the past few years that he may be defeated next year.

Mr. Gingrich has all the tools and ability to run and possibly win the presidency, his sordid past aside. However his Achilles' heel is, once he gets power, his megalomania takes over. Like all those from past history who have had this problem, he will fail and will finish what President George W. Bush started -- run the nation totally into the ground.

I am disgusted and say why not? The people don't run the nation -- the 1 percent who own the nation do that. The coming primary election season should be great to watch fun and a barrel of laughs for the cynics among us like myself.

My dream ticket on the Republican side: Gingrich-Trump! Two megalomaniacs fighting each other for control of a sinking ship. As the saying goes, you can't make this up.
