Jimmy stated a couple years back, if he didn't win a ring while working for Dave & Mike, he would resign and he let's his emotions get to him and this last loss in the ALCS was too much for him. It was time and he said it was time.

He'll always be remembered for his success and colorful players he's had including Bonds, taking the Fish to the WS and beating Cleveburgh and taking Detroit to the WS as well. Not many managers have taken two teams to the WS.
