Liberal California COVID-19 deaths now highest in nation

1. California has just under 40 million people. The next closest state doesn't have 30 million. It's incredible that they haven't had the highest death count until now.
2. Are you guys saying that doing nothing would have been more effective?
Liberal New York the 4th most populated state in the nation has the 2nd highest death rate of Covid-19.

Why have my kids been sitting in their rooms for a year?
Why are their schools closed?
Why have their sports been relegated to doing nothing or just limited practices?
The current reported deaths in CA is 46,569. I'm going out on a limb here but I think the answer to all three of your questions is: So the current number of reported deaths isn't 93,000.

Its been 1 year and ZERO kids in SD country have died but about every school district has remained closed or if open, in person 1 day per week and competing sports have been virtually non existent for kids.

I do agree though on making a better effort to get kids in school and sports. I miss seeing my nephews playing sports. Older started first year in high school and would have been playing football/baseball.
New York though has been averaging 235 per 100,000 last week compared to California's 117. South Dakota 204, Texas 140, Arizona 203, Oregon 50, New Jersey 251 :scared, Hawaii 30 (Aloha).
Some would argue that ZERO kids dying shows how effective it's been.
The reason I asked if you thought doing nothing would be more effective than wearing masks and restricting congregations is because all you have done is bitch. What's an alternative? Loosen things up until we get to 5 or 10 kids dead?
If Cuomo woulda taken advantage of all the help Trump gave him, Ny wouldn't have had half as many deaths. It's an absolute shame how this criminal of a governor is looked at
Actually I looked this up the other day at work, the US has had just over 900 cases of influenza this season. nothing like the millions we normally have.
It's a win in my book, as this time last year we were just coming down from a bad influenza season.....little did we know what was right around the corner.
side note- i made a hypothesis in August saying this year the flu should be non-existent due to the increase in hand washing, sanitizing, distancing, and mask wearing. I was correct. Watch out Fauci, I'm coming for your job:142smilie
Trump lost re-election because he completely botched his response to COVID. Cuomo has made a lot of mistakes but at least he took it seriously from the start.
