I am having a hard time understanding how the Texas/Tribe game is at a virtual "pick'em"?
Let's see....the Tribe has lost 8 in a row, ranks 13th (out of 14) in the AL in BA, runs, RBI, slugging, and OBP. And--durting the streak, they have hit .100 with men in scoring position (according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer). To boot, the only guy hitting the ball with consistency is on the DL (Bradley)
Texas has been tatooing the ball lately, scoring 30 something runs in their last series against Toronto...including 6 off of Halladay and the Blue Jay bully last night. They lead the league in homers, having 4 guys with at least 8 already, not to mention Blalock leading the league in batting
Pitching-wise, I know Texas is throwning a kid making his first start---which could actually be an advantage because no one has ever seen him before. The Tribe is throwing Davis, who right now is their 5th starter (behind CC, Rodriguez, B Anderson, and Westbrook)
Home field advantage? The Tribe isn't drawing the crowds they used to, and with a cold evening ahead, the crowd may even be more sparse. This year, Texas is 5-7 on the road...while the Tribe is 3-9 at home, advantage Texas. Also--since the Jake came into being, entering this year--only 2 teams have a winning record there, the Yankees.....and yup, Texas.
Bottom line, I don't see the Indians with enough fire power to keep up with the Rangers tonight. If Benoit can find the plate at all, I see Texas rolling.
Am I missing something here?!?!?!
