Chicago
They were talking about how Chicago's air quality is not yet up to spec's. Who's spec's, I don't know.

They have built brand new emission testing facilities all over the state in the years since all this was made law probably two decades ago ($$$). Trained and manned them with a ton of people from grunts to management types that know all about vehicles and their computers and exhaust systems ($$$). Equipped and maintained them with the latest high end computers and machinery ($$$). All vehicles have been being produced with fuel injection systems that one cannot adjust. Factory set from the 1st day of driving ($$$). Send out constant notices of mandatory testing for every vehicle ($$$). Fuel ingredients have been controlled with a bevy of laws and regulations adding to that cost ($$$). Every passenger vehicle on the road has to comply with emisssions testing and spend money ($$$) to ensure their vehicles are under legal emission limits.

Also, manyfacturing has been leaving this area for some time now. Any emissions from manufacturing surely (IMO) has to be down greatly.

How the hell can this state not be getting a passing grade for it's air quality?

I'm thinking this is the biggest circle jerk ever invented. Possibly bypassed only by the ESPY's.

L.A.
Did they at least say the air quality is improved? Maybe they just set a standard that would take forever to reach.

I know that LA is still not up to standards, but is greatly improved from 25 years ago. No more smog alerts, much less respiratory damage, and an obvious visible difference. ....Of course LA is still among the worst air in the country (if not the worst) and may never be "to standard". The improvement efforts have been well worth it though.

It may be better but I don't recall them saying anything positive Smurph.

I mistakenly related all this on a "state" level. I think they were referring mostly to the city of Chicago.

I think if they wipe out more of the Cubs fans, air quality would greatly improve.

Cubs fans=full of shiet :)
