Hudson Valley area.....NY
I have been drinking the Kool aide .After being here in Texas for the past few years although not a " longhorn" fan because of the Mean Green North Texas allegiance last night the Texas tower was lite after their softball team beat Texas Tech for the national Champoinship . I did win some money on the Longhorns though. I still won't wear a Texas T-shirt or pull over sweatshirt or Texas hat I after being here in Austin finally I have to put up the white Surrender flag and was cheering for the Texas Longhorns woman's softball;; team , I guess when you live here in Austin every radio,TV and newspapers has you Brian washed . But I always said I would not fall for the exposure and " Brain washing" of Texas Lonhorns " But I am putting up the " white Flag" I surrender. Although my distain of the Texas Longhorns My daughter a graduate I have finally succumb and given up. Playing raqackball every morning with all Longhorn players , going to parties and hanging out with all Longhorn fanatics Radio and TV newspapers etc I have given up The Brian washing has worked , They got me... I have surrenderd . Although always an out cast In NY being a Phillie fan my next door neighbor informed me this morning he is buying me a Texas Longhorn baseball hat and when I take my 3 legged dog " Lucky" for a walk I better wear it . It's a sad day here in Austin and in a few days its my birthday . Damn when you get to a certain age Birthdays are no longer looked upon. So with sad news I have put up the white flag and am a Longhorn " fan But I will not eat a breakfast taco .. Today is June 7th. I always remember my father telling me of the story of June 5th and 6th 1944. D-day on that morning allied troops were preparing the invasion of Normandy. My father was in General Clarks 5th Army and they captured Rome as the Germans escaped . My father was in AMG{ allied American Goverment"} The news all over the world was " Rome captured" but D-day made the front pages and Romes headline made the 2nd pages . Anyway have a nice weekend Go Longhorns > Naaa Can't say that and am holding out and not eating a " breakfast Taco"
