Top large heavy-duty pickup: Chevrolet Silverado HD

Looking at the pickup categories of the 2013 J.D. Power IQS, one might get the idea that General Motors is the only manufacturer that produces them. In both truck segments of the study, not only did Chevrolet win both, but Chevrolet and GMC trucks constituted all of the runners-up as well. The 2013 Silverado HD takes the heavy-duty win over its GMC analog the Sierra HD, essentially sweeping the category.

The 4-door Chevrolet Avalanche combines the versatile workhorse attributes of a pickup truck with the passenger space of a small SUV, and new buyers appreciate its flexibility. The Avalanche's 5.3-liter V8 engine and StabiliTrak electronic stability control help it earn the category award. Once again, GM products swept a pickup category: The Avalanche and the GMC Sierra tied for the win, with the Chevrolet Silverado placing right behind them.
