Hawaii(+8.5)
We have a live underdog tonight in the Hawaii Rainbows at Michigan at 9:00 Pm EST.
As always, it's really tough comparing conferences, but that alone is enough to consider an 8.5 pt underdog at this time of year.
Hawai, plain and simple, can shoot the lights out. They hit 46.2% of their shots YTD, and are even hotter lately, shooting 48.9% in their last 5. Their rebounding #'s are virtually identical to Michigan and they are better at the 3 point shot and better at the all important free throw line. Hmmmmm?
Michigan does show a statistical advantage on D, but you know what .......I've seen more and more and more in college hoops that offence has been winning over defence. Hmmmm?
Don't overestimate the power of the Big Ten when this line was set........they are still known as a national basketball power and combine that with the stories of jet lag out there regarding Hawaii's trip to Michigan, and there is no question this line is inflated. However, don't look past the fact that this is a veteran Hawaii squad who starts 4 seniors, and also that this team basically lives on jet lag due to obvious geography.
And here's the clincher.............Michigan has given up more shots than they've taken in 4 of their last 5............a real sign of a time bomb ready to go off, especially against a good shooting team like they face tonight.
