LOL, only in New York

We all know the fans are rough in NeW York, but this has to take the cake, the fans at the US Open are booing the 7th hole, they are actually booing the friggin hole itself. The 7th has been deemed unplayable by almost every golfer and only 1 player birdied it yesterday, an amateur. Even the best of high soft shots were rolling off the back of the green yesterday, if you saw any of it you know what a joke the grounds crew made of this hole. How funny is it the fans are actually booing the frigging hole, only in New York.

Funny that they booed the hole --- should of booed whoever decided on yesterdays pin placement in my opinion.

Penguinfan...On friday I sat in the bleachers on the 7th for about an hour.Almost every shot went right at the flag,dropped a few feet before and then almost stopped 4 or 5 feet pass the pin.Almost all the balls looked liked they stopped but each ball...rolled a little,then a little more and then off the green or on the fringe.
Everyone was clapping then moaning as the ball went off.It wasn't booing but ohhhhhhhing.Maybe on Saturday they booed.The guy sitting in front of us said on Thur only 3 guys stuck the green.
Weir hit a great shot ,got back bite but rolled off.I forgot who hit the flag and even that rolled off.Mickleson stuck the green.You have about on your right side of the pin one small area that you have to hit so it doesn't roll off.Herron stuck the green too.Izawa hit the best shot,looked like a hole in one....but it rolled off.
Verplank was the best.He hit it in the trap on the left.Then he hit out and the ball rolled back to him.He hit again and the ball rolled back to him. He hit it again to the green but was 15 feet away from the hole.Then he nailed the putt.The crowd went crazy and he laughed.The he threw his ball to some kid and said"keep that one".We heard Singh got a birdy later on.
Tough hole...pin placement made it even tougher.

today they are watering the green every couple of groups on the 7th hole. It must be pretty bad

BTW, ELS is stinking up the house today :nono:
