Just got home from work, trying to fight the traffic from the Tropicana 400, cops everywhere. Anyway was listing to the radio about this game. They talk about how they have to fly over 1000 miles to get to Pittsburgh. Than I noticed that this game went into extra innings. The interesting point they made is that LA did this last year. I don't remember when or where so I thought I would bring it up here. To late fletcher all over it, good job. So my question, does anyone have any stats on this or the results from last year. Want to examine this game from the inside out, with all angles. I'll see what I can dig up, but if anyone has any info on this, that we can all share, that would be great.

Private plane? Not sure

Brownie left early to rest? Not sure

Quiet, tired bats for L.A.?

Sloppy fielding b/o exhaustion?

No bullpen!

On balance, Pitt and over look good, though.

Kevin Brown got through his last of three bullpen sessions without any problems and is on schedule to start Sunday's series opener at Pittsburgh. Brown was throwing on the side to stay sharp during his nine-day respite between starts, especially since he spent a month on the DL before being reinstated June 24

Billy...I remember that situation for LA last year and, I believe, they won the game...I was on the other side.

Did Brown even return after the break as he has the private plane deal to visit his family in Fla. I wouldn't be surprised if either he went from there to Pitt or he didn't take the team plane last night.

I think this situation would be much more attractive if Brown wasn't the starter. Regardless of the Dodger team condition, the Pirates can't win if they don't score.

Perhaps the under is a better look.

good luck

Brown left well before the game yest. The Dodgers sent him on a private plane to rest up. The under might be the better choice, but at 7.5? Too risky.

I was in LA last month listening to local Dodger talk on talk radio. Chan Ho Park travels alone when starting games on the road. The other pitchers travel with the team. So Kevin Brown most likely didn't travel to Pittsburgh in advance.

I also like the OVER. My calculations have this game around 8.75 runs.

Why not PARLAY Pittsburgh to the over, since there IS a cause-and-effect. IF the Pirates win today they will have to knock Kevin Brown around a bit.

LAD bats have been cooling for the past 3 weeks after going through a very hot period. Pitt plays much better at home than on road and Schmidt make wake up the LA bats. I th9ink the over 7.5 is the way to go.

I heard on the Dodger broadcast yest that Brown was in Pitt while the game was in progress.
Also, isn't Brown the guy with a private plane in his contract.
