Nobody with the Indians can say with certainty how C.C. Sabathia will look after missing his last two starts. They will say this, though: They're glad Sabathia's back.
As the staff's ace, a healthy Sabathia is needed to get the Indians on solid footing. They've had problems during his absence, although it's hard to find fault with how the starting pitching did while he nursed a strained bicep tendon.
But any injury to a top-notch pitcher is worrisome, so don't look for manager Eric Wedge to overextend Sabathia. In the wake of the Tribe's 11-2 win Friday night, Wedge will be hoping, among other things, that Sabathia returns as sharp as he'd been before the injury.
