Illi +6.5 over Duke ****
Illi has won 16 of last 18.I like the 3 gd attack of Williams,Brown and Head.Powell and Augustine add offense to this attack.Illi plays tough defense.
Duke is always loaded.JJ,Williams,Deng,etc.Depth might be a problem.Duhon's ribs could be a factor but Duke will have its hands full trying to stop Williams and Brown.
Close game.I think Illi has a chance to upset and win.Illi since being destroyed by Wisky in B-10 final has refocused
UAB +5 over Kansas ******
"Mo" is the Jayhawks problems.It's Nolans '40 minuts of hell" or "press till they drop dead".UAB is on a roll.Have an 11 man rotation.Press,trap,fast break,etc.Uptempo style will a problem for KU.
On top of that KU has some injuries and does not have depth.And KU is not a great shooting team.Simien,Langford,etc are all solid.But Miles is the pt gd and I think "Mo" and co go after him all game.UAB bench is so deep.Taylor twins,Kennedy and Eddins are all good.
I think this is not a good matchup for KU.UAB caused 630 turnovers this yr.Thats 20 a game.
KU in trouble with consistent pressure.Close game and just maybe UAB could upset.UAB is 17-10 ats.KU is 13-15.But I like "Mo"s line"fatigue is the biggest thing I see when I look into an opponents eyes".Simien,Langford and Padgett didn't practice this week.All are playing but have nagging injuries.But with the pressure they will see tonite I'm not sure if they can go 40 minuts.KU in the Illi Chi game had 25 turnovers.And they haven't seen UAB's press yet.
Nevada +4 over GT ****
Love Synder.Big time player at 6'6.Fazekas has great hands and is a force.Okeson can shoot the eyes out.Pinkney can score.Hill-Thomas played great D holding Stepp and Hill to below their avgs.
GT loaded at gds with BJ and Jack.Luke at 7'1 will be a good matchup with Faz.Good perimiter team with some slashers.Isma'il will get some dunks.
But I like Nevada to cover and a has a chance to upset.They play unselfish and get a lot of assits.GT defense will have trouble contesting Synder and co.Wolf Pack after knocking off Zaga have a lot of confidence.They can shoot,slash,and can get the ball down low to Faz.And if you foul Nevada forget it.They shoot over 80% in the tourney.
XU +3.5 Texas ***
XU is 20-13 ats.Is 7-0 ats.Beat Miss St and Louisville.Hottest team in the country.Texas has so much depth.Many guys back from lyr's team.Mouton,Ivy,etc. But Texas has no true pt.And outside shooting is still suspect.In last 7 games Texas lost to OSU by 9,lost KSU 9,Beat OU by 3,lost OSU by 16,beat Princeton and NC by 17 and 3.
They are 3-5 ats in last 8 games.Sato,Chalmers and co could win this outright.Texas inside is stronger but XU has handled bigger teams.
Taking all 4 dogs tonite.Wow.Think all 4 can possibly win outright.
Played a small moneyline on all of them in a parlay.
Also played a parlay a few days ago.I took Bama but yest switched to Cuse.
