LOUISIANA TECH +10 - The Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech served notice that they have arrived in Division 1A with their road victory at Michigan State last week, arguably the most important victory in the history of this program. Unlike past seasons, when Tech simply tried to outscore people, this team actually plays enough defense to make them a very dangerous underdog, especially catching double-digits. They are allowing 23.3 points per game in their first 3 games, which is a marked improvement from past years. They also are displaying a more balanced offense, as they are now averaging 122.0 rushing yards per game to compliment their always dangerous passing attack. As for the ?other? Bulldogs from Fresno State, this team appears to have regressed a bit from last year. They are off to a 1-2 start, granted vs. a killer schedule. However, they have become accustomed to opening the year with some stiff competition, and they have not been as competitive as in the recent past, losing by an average of 13.3 points per game. They still can?t run the ball a lick, averaging 60.7 rushing yards on 2.3 yards per carry, and even their passing attack has been down, averaging 178.7 yards in the air. This lack of offense virtually makes them an automatic fade as a big favorite like this.
