I'm getting tried of the press talking about USC and Ohio St. as 2 of the best 3 teams in college football. USC plays in the weak PAC-10. They have only 1 other team in the BCS top 15. And their lose was to Cal. with a 6-6 record. Ohio St. also only has 1 other team in the top15. And only beat lowly Penn St by 1.
LSU has only 1 lose also. They lost to the nuber 13 team by 10. However they beat the number 6 team. They also play in a cconference with 4 teams in the top 15. They play the 15th ranked team today. They are the only Division 1-A team to allow under 100 points this season.
I'M SORRY, But LSU should be 2!

lsu survived today, i will admit, was at the game. shut down eli...however a 60 yd reception to the 3 yardline called back. and also a ole miss intercepts mauck for the 4th time of the night and returns it for 6, all to be called back for a false start on lsu. not to mention the best field goal kicker in the country misses 2 field goals. Lsu did not show me much tonight, just got the breaks and the calls

I think its possible, USC only won by 25 points today so maybe the New York times will deop them out of the top 25 for that weak effort. Serioulsy, I just don't see LSU jumping USC after the outcry when OSU was given the #2 spot.

Well, to some extent. LSU has a terrific D, and I think they took Eli out of his element, so to speak. Yes, a few calls different and Ole Miss could have one the game. Here's to hoping we get SEC representation in the NC game...:toast: Go LSU! (I'm a rebel fan)

I completely agree the only reason why LSU is not number one is for one they play in the SEC not the PAC 10 so they dont blow everyone out because the level of competition is so good every single week; thats a big reason why the BCS took out margin of victory; its easy for USC to look impressive against the crappy competition in the PAC 10 hell I think they only have one team besides USC in the top 25 and thats WSU and they have 3 freakin losses; what a joke; I am so sick of hearing about how impressive USC has looked; look at their freakin schedule they have not played one decent team so please let up on that talk; its stupid and makes no sense; if LSU would have lost before USC they would be number 2 period. USC lost to a team with 6 losses; LSU lost to Florida case closed; the good thing for LSU is their SOS will continue to get better which will increase their computer rankings and since USC does not play a a top 40 team the rest of the year; there is a good chance that LSU should and rightfully so move to number 2. The only problem with LSU is they have to play Arkansas and then the SEC championship game; too bad for LSU; just goes to show how unfair it is when USC last game is against a joke of a team Ore State; wont matter any matter even if USC gets there they are toast

Let me clarify, I don't think it is honestly out of the question. LSU's strenght of schedule may just put them over the top. Obviously they have to win out and win tougher games, but I think they will, they have a legit shot, but they have to be close in Monday's poll, if they are too many points back then start looking to next year.

It certainly didn't help USC with Ore. St. and WSU both losing today. That makes their strength of schedule even lower. We will have to wait and see what happens.

I am far from a pac 10 person but have seen usc almost every week and i am even less of a usc fan, except baseball. they would rip lsu this team is very very good not saying lsu is not but they do not have the wepons to stand up to usc and i would take they sec anytime over pac 10 in sports to watch and like, but have to give usc their respect they could of beat ucla 80-2 if they kept starters in.

They have a very good young qb, nice wide outs and way above avg team speed as much as i hate to say it usc and ok are the best out there . they are 1 step ahead of everyone else lsu should of lost today if not for maybe the best kicker in the nation getting a chicken bone stuck in him. Like i said hate to say it but you can't take it away from use they have earned it and get stronger each week and have nc's off down almost not the eaisest off guy to work under very complex system and carrol is a great deff mind as is saben but usc has way to much speed and wepons for lsu to be in the game. lsu will lose in the sec title game, just watch. But respect you opion i have to hear pac 10 till it comes out my toes out here and like i said i am a big east sec person when it comes to a fan. and the mac got to love them someday they will get the respect they should nothing is better then going to see a mac game in all sports because all teams are like a rivial everytime they play each other no matter what the rec is. and glad my marshall team and ucf is going took away from the mac as the old mac.

usc is a good well above avg team i hate to say it but they are lsu is just a good team. That will lose to the east in the sec title game. like i said if you think you hear it back home i am from the east move out west:eek: but they earned it. it pains me so to have to say ok and usc are the best in the country by far imo trust me on that. also you can add the big 10 to that list never did like their style of play never will but getting more wide open i do and have always liked 1 school from the big 10 iowa hyden was never afraid to let the ball go in the air, if i want to watch nfl type games i will watch the nfl. and that is what big 10 fb reminds me of.

i live in sec country and i honestly feel usc has more weapons than lsu. lsu is very talented but i give the edge to usc. sadly, it does not matter what any of us think. an 8 team playoff would be enough. the bcs sucks!!!!! strenght of sced, whatever, it is all bs. a computer can not see what is on the field. it can not factor in rivalry games, nor can it gauge college kids week in/week out. a top 8 playoff would be perfect.

I know LSU is a good team..but a review of their schedule has questions too:

Western Illinois ????

UL MONROE ?????

Louisiana Tech ?????????

Mississippi State-- don't they suck?

Auburn--- ??? do you think they are part of this tuff sked???

So. Caro--????getting their butts opened by Clemson as I write this.

Arizona--- don't they stink ??

Alabama--- okay team

Ole Miss--- not bad either!!!

Fla--- very good team !!!

Ga---very good team !!!!

LSU is a very good team but haven't they played a bunch of stiffs too??

deeply respect your opinion fletcher and by no means am i a lsu fan the furthest from the truth but the bottom line is lsu does play in the sec not in the pac 10; i would love to see usc record playing in the sec; if they can lose to cal; how can you really say they are that much bettter than lsu; lsu has only allowed more than one touchdown in one game and that is the game they lost; i agree usc offense is probably a little better; but not on defense and defense wins championships; i am sorry but when i look at usc i just have to look back at last year when they had a better team and they had 2 losses then starting playing crappy teams and by the end of the year everyone was saying they were the best team in the nation playing next to miami; as far as beating ucla 80-2; dont really see as much of an accomplishment doesnt ucla have 6-7 losses i am sure alot of teams could take them to the woodshed and they were also playing at home; all i am saying is lsu has one loss to florida a very good team and they play in the sec and usc lost to a horrible cal team and they play in the pac 10 who only other top 25 team has 3 losses; i dont see how you can compare anything else; i see usc as a poor mans kansas state; they play a bunch of cupcakes all season then finally play someone and get their ass handed to them

LSU's schedule got screwed with because 2 teams backed out on them. When they played W. Illinois, they were the #1 ranked team in 1-AA.

USC played Arizona & Auburn as did LSU so that should be a wash. LSU plays in the tougher conference by far & their one loss was against a top 15 team while USC lost to a team in their conference which is weak to begin with & has 6 losses. Their schedule is nothing to write home about either.

I think LSU could give Oklahoma fits with their defense which is in the top 5 in the country. I respect their defense even more considering the conference they play in as the SEC is the toughest conference from top to bottom.

is way to inconsistent for lsu to beat oklahoma....or even be in the game....the majority of the fans want to see usc-oklahoma....it would be a better game....

usc vs lsu neutral field

line usc -6

gl, gregg

& your point is what exactly? Whippy they might be installed as the favorite but that sure doesn't make them better then USC. In my OPINION, LSU would beat USC as they are more battle tested, have as good talent, solid coaching, & are more experienced in having their back against the wall.

The 2nd best team in the land does not lose to a conference team with 6 losses period!
