i'm sorry, but i witnessed a game tonight where osu was outclassed (again).

dropped td, blocked fg, and several 15yd penalties added to the outcome......... possibly 17 point swing with the mentioned events.

however, osu was so behind at the half that their margin of error in the 2nd was impossible to overcome.

the point : osu needed to play damn near perfect to win.

USC easily would have played with LSU. i am not claiming that they would have won, but they could have put up a better effort than osu.

i don't like the pac 10 and i love sec football, but the current system is piss poor at best.

grumpy.

your first 2 sentences don't go together, if they were outclassed, they never would of been in the game, then you follow up with the dropped td, blocked fg, roughing the kicker and 15 yard penalties that changed the landscape of the game, if it is a 17 pt swing then OSU wins, so which is it bazzle? They didnt belong on the field as they were outclassed or if those plays dont occur there is a different outcome? big difference

USC would have beaten them. WVA too, Georgia without a doubt. Any 2 loss title team is automatically tainted.

Last I checked there is only 1 1 loss BCS conference team out there....and they didnt play tonight....

LSU cant ever have the title taken away....but that doesnt mean I have to think they deserved it or frankly even earned it.

The system is flawed. It's not LSU's fault. They got the invite, they showed up, and they handed OSU their 10th? str8 bowl loss to the SEC.

I think that a healthy USC team would have a good a chance as any to win the title, and may be the best team, but again, the system is flawed, we need a playoff. It sucks for CFB and CFB fans. But LSU stepped up, with Dorsey and Doucet healthy, and played a solid game. LSU can beat anybody on any given day. They are not a fraud NC given this year. They deserve it as much as anybody.

I do not post pro-LSU crap on this, or any other site. I feel that LSU proved their worth tonight. To be honest(you can easily look-up my posts) , I was not verycomfrtable w/ this LSU team in August due to a lack of depth at OL and DB, as well as a lack of quality QB play.

For those that care, LSU played tonight without their all-american SS(vastly overrated ) SS, Craig Steltz.]

Elvis, I feel you are off base. GL going forward

Say what you want, but if USC would have beaten Stanford at home then this would all be moot.

LSU won and give credit where credit is due. I work with a USC fan and all he talked about for 9 months was get us tickets to the championship in New Orleans. Too bad you couldn't beat a crappy team to make that happen.

The fact is there was a lot of parity on college football this year from top to bottom. There was no dominant team. The sh!tty system in place determined LSU to be the champ, so they're the champ. All BCS titles are tainted. This one no more so than any other.

What has been evident this year is that on any given Saturday, or Thursday night, anyone can beat anyone, so I wouldn't say any team was undeserving of the title. LSU had the opportunity to play for the tltle and did what it took to take the title. They earned it.
Having said that, it's time to get a tournament just like the Div II and III tourneys. . . or very similar. What's wrong with the idiots that control the bowl games? Don't they see what takes place in college basketball during March Madness? Don't they get it? Apparently not. If they are worried about their precious bowl sponsors, let each regional tourney game be sponsored by a different "Bowl" sponsor.
Most of the bowl games were flat out jokes. That Emerald Bowl in San Francisco which made both teams work from the same sideline which required my Terrapins to run 60 yards just to get a play in or a replacement on to the field, when they were backed up on their own goal line, was insane. All in the name of allowing a few more "fans" to watch the game. Rediculous.
I don't know what it's going to take to get a tourney but it needs to happen. I can't believe the "powers that be" from the NCAA don't have the foresight to see the potential as well as the fairness of a tourney. I thought that was the main purpose of the NCAA, to promote fairness and sportsmanship. I don't see anything fair or sporting about allowing the BCS to determine the best team in college football.
Just my humble opinion.

Somebody has to be the Champion, and there is no better argument for any team in the nation, period.

Please make an argument for any other team and I will quickly debunk it. Happened to be a year where all teams were flawed, and LSU was the least flawed of all. Again, somebody HAS to be NC, and there is no team out there that has any argument at all to be the NC instead of LSU.

congrats to the lsu fans - no ill feelings towards you guys just unsatisfied with the game in general.

dicey, as for the mutually exclusive sentences : the point was and still is that osu does not have the talent to come back from mistakes like they made last night. if the mistakes do not happen than we do have a much closer game, obviously, but osu failed to stop lsu on 3rd down for almost an entire half - the last td by osu was in garbage time anyway.

fact : anytime lsu had a 3 & 1 they ran over the osu line. it happened at least 4 times. i do think osu has a lot more talent than it did a year ago, but they are still average compared to lsu, usc.

their lines are too small, imo.

either way, it doesn't matter because the game happened and is over. next year will be probably be as dissapointing because the talent at many of the schools evens up every year

LSU's two losses came to legit teams both of which were in bowls, and both were in OT

USC lost at home as a 40pt fav:142smilie

Ohio St. lost 2 of 3 games in which they actually played a legit team, and Mich was banged up in the lone win.

UGA got the hell beat out of them at UT and lost to a non-bowl South Carolina team

Mizzou and Kansas could not finish the deal when they had the chance and WV should be shot for losing to Pitt.

In my eyes, there is no other team anywhere near as deserving as LSU

That pretty much sums it up. There really is no
doubt LSU deserves the NC. NONE. Plain and
simple.
