Anyone watching this new HBO show? I watched the first few episodes last night. Not sure what to think yet, but seems fairly entertaining. :0corn

As a horse racing fan, I think it's great.

My wife has watched it as well. She says she doesn't understand some of the stuff that goes on in the scenes at the track, but thinks the characters are great.

HBO signed LUCK on for a second season of 10 episodes to air in 2013. Filming will begin shortly on "dark" days at Santa Anita.

(On a side note, I recently subscribed to HBO for the purpose of watching this show. I had heard good things about other HBO series, and now I am hooked on those trying to get caught up. I didn't realize cable programs were this far superior to regular network TV anymore?!?!)

This is shaping up to be one hell of a little show. Unbelievably beautiful scene that race was. Anyone know the name of that piece of music?

Rosie is fast becoming the sexiest little thing on TV. Ride 'em, girl! No wonder she's a better jockey than Bug.

I thought the 3rd episode was FAR better than the first two. Really getting into this show--like with Boardwalk Empire :0074

Hummm...may have to give this show a second chance now. saw the 1st episode and thought it was boring, slow and the characters sucked. Agree about Boardwalk Empire--a great show. And it features Templeton Rye.

After watching all the episodes thus far.....

I am still giving it a 6.5 outta 10.

I mean 6.5 is an ok score, but when HBO has shows like OZ and Game of Thrones ....."Luck" pretty much sucks.

Of course not really fair to compare "Luck" to those two HBO shows, but hey sometimes life ain't fair:SIB

So yep......sticking with 6.5 outta 10.

Nope, you are way off-base here. That racing sequence was better than anything I've seen in Fringe since the second season. (Don't get mad at the truth.) You are way too high on your praise for Oz. It was nowhere the quality of The Sopranos or the first season of Game of Thrones. Don't get me wrong, it was a good show, but Westeros and New Jersey are much more enjoyable places to escape too than prison in my opinion. There was always a little too much male nudity in Oz for my taste. Makes me wonder a little but about you, kick, not that there's anything wrong with that.

I'm a big fan of Luck so far. I don't know a ton about the horse racing world, but I enjoy learning a few things here and there as the show goes on. Love the characters, great acting, and of course the filming is beautiful.

I see comments about other shows on HBO. What about The Wire? One of the best television shows of all time, if not, the best. And if you don't know about it, you better go start watching from season 1 on!

Kind of forgot The Wire was on HBO since I watched it all in about 2 weeks from torrents. That was another great show that was better than Oz. I think for me it goes:

1. Curb Your Enthusiasm
2. The Sopranos
3. Game of Thrones
4. The Wire
5. Band of Brothers (just a miniseries, but EPIC)
6. Eastbound and Down
7. Entourage
8. Da Ali G Show
9. Sex and the City
10. Tales from the Crypt

This should blow them all away though.

"LUCK" shouldn't even be mentioned in same breath as OZ and Game of Thrones.

Luck is an ok show, that is all.

Only 4 episodes so it could get better, but it is nothing special.

A solid 6.5 outta 10 thus far.

And by the way Sopranos was the most over-rated TV show in history of TV. There were so many slow slow slow slow slow slow slow slow episodes in that series. Not to mention a horrible series finale ending and characters having dream sequences talking to fish. Sopranos was by far the most over-rated TV show in history of TV. A good show, hell ya, but oh so over-rated.

Again...."Luck" is ok.....6.5 outta 10......but many more episodes to come. Maybe move up to 6.9 on the kickserv scale soon.

There is OZ

There is Game of Thrones

and way down and #865 is Luck

thankfully my brother knows about horse racing and catchs me up on questons i have, though is an enjoyable show soo far.

good as it is, i could actually go without any of the dustin hoffman parts. i know, it'll take some episodes to develop character traits etc, though i guess i'm an action junkie in the sense, -scenes with his character, jus blah (for me) so far.

like watching escalante (sp?) though - hes fun.

No Six feet under on your list? For me, the top 3 shows that have ever been on HBO are--in no particular order, are:

Six Feet Under
The Wire
Sopranos
Oz

OK, my top 4. :142smilie

I never really gave Six Feet Under a chance. I only watched two episodes, and I thought they were like watching the grass grow. Maybe I'll give it another chance someday.
