Playing online in a MTT last night I found myself sitting in the BB with 300/600 blinds. Chip Stack is around 4k and looking at a wired 3h 3c

Folds around to the SB who has 12k in chips. He bumps 1x to 1200. I call the 600 hoping to catch a little luck on the flop.

And I do, kind of. 2s 3s 6s :)

1st to act bets 600 into the pot of 2400 and I go ahead and push my remaining 2800 into the middle with my set. He ponders the call for all of half of a nano second and turns over Slick off.
As Kh.

So I quickly formulate a mantra and start chanting, "No spade, No spade, No spade"

To no avail...

Fing 5s hits the board. :cursin:

The New Mantra is, "Pair the board, Pair the board, Pair the board"

To no avail...

4s drops on the river.

His Comment in chat, "@!#$ me" as we split the pot, playing the board, both showing a str8 flush to the 6. :mj07:

Went on to finish in the money about 7 spots away from the serious money but thought y'all might enjoy that hand.

That's a terrible beat, War.

People just can't get away from Rockets. There could be an open ended str8 flush draw showing on the board and (if I was a gambling man) I'd bet that guy still would have put all his money in the pot with AAo.

I wish Doyle's quote had held up for you last night.

"Bullets win a lot of small pots, and lose a lot of big ones."

What are the chances of this:

live game of hold-em last night, 6 people at the table.

Two hands in a row, winner has 4 of a kind, and in both other hands 2 people had full houses.

Back to back.

Of course I was on the losing end of both with full houses.
