Has anyone stayed there? Gotta a decent offer so was thinking about splitting my week between this place and the strip but was concerned I'll feel like embedding an axe in Shelly Duvall's head by the second night.

This means pretty much nothing but.....

My mom stayed there and did not like it at all. She moved hotels after 2 nights. She said customer service was lacking. She was there for a work conference and she said they pretty much fucked everything up. There were about 100 people there for the conference and they were all less then impressed. But hey she was pissed because the people at the "M" in charge of the conference fucked everything up, that just led to everything sucking for her.

Her exact words "I will never ever set foot in the "M" ever again. That pretty much sums up her thoughts.

As for me I have never been there.

But hey aren't mom's always right:shrug:

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Long way off...but nice resort.

Long way off...but nice resort.

The everyday buffet, to me, was barely a step above cafeteria quality.
Special holiday buffet may be much better as it is with many.

Nice view of Strip, slots were looser, nice sports book.
Pretty near smoke free casino.

If you stay here, you are going to need a car.

Coldest water pool you will ever find!
I enjoyed my 4 nite stay there. Saw Wang Chung perform under the starts there. Pretty wild.

LOL... Wang Chung!
Thinking I'm gonna pass on the M... I don't like having a car in Vegas and I also like to roam on foot a bit. Sounds like I'll likely get stir crazy after the first day. Maybe split my time between downtown and the strip instead. Never stayed downtown.

I think you will enjoy the M more than downtown but, it depends on what you are looking for. The M has a shuttle to center strip, the rooms are very nice and the sports book is spacious although you can't get a drink there.

You can always cab it down to SouthPoint for a diversion.

I used to stay at the Golden Nugget but, wouldn't consider even going downtown to stay anymore although I would like to check out the new Plaza and the former mayor's restaurant.

We are making the trek in Sept staying at SouthPoint and Planet Hollywood. We'll visit the M on Friday for a day of betting on the horses.

Have a good time.

Those outdoor concerts are great at the M and Wang Chung would have been a great choice for that venue. Maybe you get lucky with someone you want to see there on a Saturday night.

I wouldn't even give it that good of a review. I had always heard so much ranting and raving about this buffet, that I just had to give it a try! It was the same old slop any other buffet had, and maybe a few more things, but it was all shit, IMO.

Not many tables games to play, either.

Plus, yes.....it is a long assed haul away from the rest of the Strip.

FWIW...the M has closed their Poker Room...looks like the space will now be used for slot tournaments.

FYI...LVH just re-opened their room and it is now closed again.

Poker in Vegas not a money-maker for casinos....slots work for electricity and don't need breaks...bean counters at work.
Venetian seems to consistently pack them in their poker room.
Orleans for smoke and local "ambiance."
