Iona -3 over Fairfield ****
Gaels have won 6 of 7...not blowing teams out like they used too..dont have the explosive offenses of the past but...also don't have the defenses of the past giving up 85 pts a game...now they are down to just 75 pts...Iona has a stud gd in McGill..he is consistent and plays smart...they have always lacked inside players.but TKE has done a great job scoring and rebounding...Iona is vulnerable to big post players...Stags don't have that.there only MAAC loss was to Canisius back before X-mas and they pounded the ball in...Stags have a super shooter in nelson..stop him or slow him down and Stags will have trouble scoring..Quinn just beat them the other day...they have now lost 7 of last 8 games and many thought they would win the MAAC..they are also not a good defensive team...Iona's problem on offesne is who shows up Cashmeir was high scorer again...he score 20 one might 2 the next 24 the next 4 the next...Much is almost the same way...Crawford avgs 11...but if McGill plays his game think the Stags are in trouble...its only a little more then an hour by bus up to Bridgeport from New Rochelle....
St Peter -2.5 over Siena **
Watched Peter lead the entire game vs Rider the other day at Rider..only to throw it away at the end..Peter has no scorers...no one can create his own move to the basket...they pass nice and play motion but don't have any outside scorers..Turner hit for 27 last week but is not consistent .Griffin,Taylor are avg..they rank 308 th in scoring offense...yet they are beating Rider until the final minutes Idowu played great and kept them in the game.. and defense...Saints are bad 6-16...everyone was happy when Rico got kicked off the team...but he was there one real scorer...Penn,Shivers,etc but Saints problem is 2 fold..they can't score but also can't play defense...if Peter shut down Rider on the road the other day vs a high scoring offense they can surely shut Siena who has no offense...low scoring game..Peter doesn't win to many on the road..think they get one tonite..
Rider -6 over Monmouth **
Rider has won 4 straight..but after watching them the other nite vs Peter they looked terrible...they struggled the whole game yet they have some scorers.I know Peter shuts you down but so many stupid plays ...one after the other...Marshall,Vaughan,Scott and Allen can score...but Jordan their pt gd is one of the best..last yr led the MAAC in assists...he see's the floor and his passes are crisp..think he will penetrate tonight..Hopefully Baggett the coach watched the Peter tape..there were at least 10 times Jordan didn't touch the ball...they even moved him to the 2 gd...hey,coach get your head out of your ass...think the bald headed coach makes sure the best pt gd in the MAAC anchors your team into Port...Mom has won 2 in a row.. Seaborn is still laying low but can explode..but Hawks are 2-8 on the rd...If Rider plays like it did the other day.. Monmouth will win..although they don;r have the Peter defense they can score...
Holy Cross -2.5 over Lehigh **
Both teams 15-27 between them...but Cross has won a few in a row..they are playing hot and at home..
Kansas -2 over KSU **
Think KU is just a little bit tougher..not by much
Duke -14.5 over Notre Lame
ND w/o Colson and Farrell..to much offense to lose vs one of the highest scoring teams in the
nation...Bagley4,Carter,and co.. maybe Allen has a big game...think K would like to beat them big at home.
East Tenn -16 over Citadel **

got to see him at North Texas at a basketball clinic in 1969-or 70...not sure if I learned anything about basketball but he was the funniest man I ever saw heard...I bought his 2 books but they are in NY..
at the clinic he would stop and walk over to a coach taking notes...he would stand right in front of the coach while he was writing down stuff...then Abe would say" I want to schedule you next year.....another was..." if you finish last in your league your an idiot,,if you finish last in medical school your a doctor"...
Funny man...and he ended up his career with 599 wins...can't believe someone didn't let him win his 500th.
