Niagara pk over Rider ****
Purple is making a move to be one of the elite in the MAAC.Since Fisher came back he and Brown are the best tandem besides Jordan-Whittington[Marist] in the conf.Fisher is nationally ranked in scoring with 23 pts a game and 7 bds. Brown is avg 15 and 9 bds.But they have Lewis and Hodges who both have over 70 assits.Miles and Duffy are the forgotton 2 and both avg about 12 pts.This team can score..and rebound and more importantly can shoot FT's.The problem is they give up 75 pts a game also.They were on a roll but lost a tough game by 1 this week to Loy Md.In last 9 games they are 7-2 ats,11-3 overall,5-2 ats away and 6-1 over when they play away.
Rider has a stud fd in 6'10 Thompson.He's tough on the bds and can play inside and outside.But around him he doesn't have much esp inside. Mansell and Mouton are decent gds.Rider struggled in its last 3 games. marist blew them out and then they got 2 wins vs Fairfield and St Pete. both those teams are the weakest in the MAAC.Rider had to come back and beat Fairfield after being down by 9 with 4 minuts left.They won by 1. Then a late rally saved them vs Peter. So Rider has struggled.They also beat Fairfield 2 weeks by 3.
Playing in Alumni Hall at Rider is tough.They have won 103 of there last 136 games there.Rider does have a 10-6 record but any time they play a quality team like Marist,Siena,or there non league foes they get beat.
Purple will win this esp coming off road loss to the greyhounds.
Fairfield -2.5 over Iona **
Iona who is the only team in the country still winless...might have a shot today...naaa...There waiting for St Pete.Iona is so bad.They did give manhattan a game until 5 minuts left.They have no gds to breakdown anyone off the dribble.They can't shoot from from the outside. Bruin and Gray were there only scorers. But someone forgot to tell Gray ,Iona is a cathloic school and he has to go to classes.So he's out for the year.Bruin can score inside but if he gets fouled...he's 40-94 from the FT line. A robust 42%...The team is last in the country or 333rd in FT%. something like 50%.And while were at it 330 in 3pt%,330 in FG% and 333 in scoring avg 55 pts a game.
But hold your horses. Fairfield isn't much better.There also at the bottom in avg pts, FG%,etc
Stags can't rebound either.There 0-5 since x-mas but have been in games. Lost to Manhattan and Rider by a couple...Nero the local kid has cooled down but is playing near his home today.Han and Van Sc are decent gds.Johnson and O'Sullivan are your typical MAAC slow fds. Think the Stags are hungrey and Iona is there for the taking.
Buffalo +1 over Miami *
Miami record might not knock your socks off but they are tough.They beat Kent,lost to akron and dayton by 2.Bulls getting no respect in the other MAC.I'll take them here today. Beehee[Idbihi] is playing.He's tough inside.I like Robinson and gamble.Moore is playing good.Smith is solid at fd.Buffalo ats at home is solid and Miami's is bad on the rd. They have played close games on the rd but haven't won yet.Beehee dominates inside...He's is playing right???

I'm 9-1 or 10-1 in my last MAAC games..{ I think} Buy mentioning this it's the kiss of death...Lost a heartbreaker in the Georgetown-Pitt game. I had it at -5.5. Pitt up by 8 with 1 second on the clock..sapp from G-town throws up a 40 ft shoot..think he faded away also..and it swishes. ahhh Pitt wins by 5...It's good it takes me 10 minuts to get to the Hudson river..Did an outstanding caping job on Vir tech-NC.I think I said NC fans will be nervous but just wait for the last 6 minuts. well I lost the game but did anyone see the last 6 minuts. NC down by 20 came back and almost won it.Congrads to you VT guys..good job
