Two early games I like tomr are Middle Tenn -3.5 over So bama
MT is one of those teams that is unbeatable at home and below .500 on the road. But they won a few in a row and lost to WKU away by 4 pts.And the "aircraft carrier"Marcus played.Nosse was named all SBC.Tommy Gunn made 2nd team.So bama has the Williams but are a poor shooting team. And MT has won on the court their playing on beating New Orleans earlier. They have a better pt gd and a little more depth.

In the MAAC tourney Siena the home team opens up with St Peter. If the line is -13 or 14 take the Saints over the other Saint,Peter.St peter has lost its last 6 games by 32,27,10[Loy md]18 to siena,17 and 23 pts.Siena beat them twice 73-55 and 75-59.Seina is 6-3 at home and they are the host again.

I'll be back later in the afternoon to post a few more games. But these are early games.GL

Box, I'm liking your North Texas today buy I'm leery about the butt whoopins they've had lately after the great game they had against Louisiana Lafayette. Any thoughts?

Unicorn,
Box is a High School Teacher so he might not see your post before NT game goes off! I'm sure if by chance he does, he'll shed some light for you!

I liked Canisius over Loy-Md tonite.Capped the game and thought the Griffs should be able to handle the 6 or 7 pts.Played my alma mater North Texas for a small play.Didn't have to play Canisius because the game starts at 10.00 pm.I thought that was a late start but maybe the MAAC games have the girls playing in the Pepsi arena in Albany.
Just got home and saw both games are over.I didn't even play the griffs and if I told you how much I won on my mean green it would be embarassing.
I guess the Loy-Griff game started at 10.00 am. not 10.00 pm like a few places posted.
Just playing Middle Tenn and Siena.Sorry unicorn.Take care NJO and sammy.

Tonite on ESPN their is a special on Zero graduation rates in D-1 schools.Sounds intresting.North texas hasn't graduated a basketball player in 15 yrs.Nolan,Tark, and many more are worse.

I knew you liked NT. I'll think I'll watch that show tonite. I wonder if they'll mention Huggins at Cincy. I once heard he's never graduated a player from UC. I never had that confirmed but maybe they'll mention it tonite...

Huggins

Huggins

Unicorn:

Huggins gets a bad rap about graduation rates. He takes care of his players on and off the court. No one I know of who plays for him has anything negative to say about the way he treats current and ex-players. In todays college game, there's more to it than just graduation rates. Division 1 coaches, generally, do not have the luxury that Coach K has or the IVy or small schools have.

LY, I heard Huggins' interview on Dan Patrick, ESPN Radio Show.

Funny guy.

Was talking 'bout athletic ability vs. brains of some of his players.

Cincy in a tight game. Down 2 with 30 sec left. Huggins says to one of his players, "Okay, you have #24. Play him tight." Cincy player says, "Who's he play for?"

Unicorn,Huggybare I'm sure is a part of the show.he has always been critized for that. The old "he has had more players arrested then have graduated".
I know the special will address Duke and its high graduation rate.About 2% of the Duke student body get degrees in Socialogy yet 40% of the basketball players get there degree in that field.I'm not sure where ESPN is going with that.
Every college has a major that is easier then other ones.I had a B-ball player that graduated from St Peters.Ted Fiore was the head coach back then and convinced my player that Socialogy would be in his best intrest. And it was somewhat easier with his 12 hours of "Fieldwork".
But this kid was an inner city kid with a lot of problems and he got his degree.
He played in Europe for 7 yrs and was with a CBA team for awhile. He now works with inner city kids just like he was in a large Conn city. And he has that degree.I'm glad Fiore put him on the right track.
Should be a good show.Nolan and Arkansas are also featured.
If I have time would like to tell you a great Nolan story with him and me. GL tonite

Eddie,
I like huggybare. At Clinics he is a character.Get ready to laugh and learn.I guess tonite he will take some hits. But like you said, his players like him and respect him.And your right about the graduation rates. There is more to it today.
And sometimes athletes get somewhat of a bad rap.
My daughter just graduated in Dec. from Univ of Texas.I wish I could remember that exact amount but something like 65-70% of the students that entered UT 5 yrs ago graduated. And UT has one of the highest %'s.
Many universites are below 50%.I'm sure the football and b-ball players are below what the avg student %'s are.Tonite I think they come up with all the stats.
