Did Pretty well last week after an atrocious week 1.Still have plenty of work to do. YTD 8-12 (-3.5)

Akron +7 vs Ball State 1 unit

I think the Zips may keep things interesting vs. Ball State. Akron has been much better offensively than most thought they would be. QB Chris Jacquemain has been terrific and may allow the Zips to match or surpass the high powered Ball State offense led by the ultra exciting tandom of Nate Davis and Dante Love. The raucous gathering of at least 5,000 at the rubber bowl will enjoy a wide open game. I don't think that they can set the total high enough for this one.

Buffalo -6 vs. Temple. (1 unit)

I think Spackler stated it pretty well when he said that the Bulls can score and Temple can not. Starks and Willy are the difference at home.

More later...

I don't blame you, to quote a friend." Blindly following my plays can be hazzardous to your wallet."

I will admit that the Akron total is as good as it gets for me, and I won't play any game for more than that. If that one goes down, I'll take a pretty big hit.

Spang - was going to ask you about this one as I thought it was way too low thinking it might be a trap. Will roll on this one with you:mj06:

Spang what is your take on these 2 games:

Tol/EM & CMich/Ohio
Thanks--I am looking at both totals

Hawk, I looked at them but can't find an edge. Tough to figure Toledo after the AZ loss where they were outclassed. QB Opelt can put points on the board and last year the D was pathetic. EMU looks to be improving, no shame in being outyarded at Mich State by only 70 yards.
Tough call for me

As far as Ohio/ CMU goes, its an interesting contrast of styles. Ohio can play some D and should be motivated to get their first W after a great effort at the horseshoe last week. I'd lean towards taking the points, but will probably pass the side and total.

Adding Mich/ ND under 35 (1 unit)

Also dropped the Akron total down to a 5 unit play based on the possibility of thundestorms in the area on saturday. May buy another 5 units the morning of the game if conditions are favorable.

Raining steady here all day. There is a possibliity of thunder storms moving in tonight. Saturdays forcast reveals upwards to a 70% chance of rain and more thunder storms. If any of you are thinking of playing this game, I'd hold off until just before kickoff. The game is on artificial turf with good drainage so that will help.

What are your thoughts on Boise and BG? I am thinking Boise at home but would like to hear a MAC gurus opinion!

Thanks

I'm not going to play a side but am looking at the total as it should be a track meet. BG can move the ball when they manage to hold on to it. They flat out gave the Minny game away last week and will have to take much better care of the ball to have any chance at all.

BG Falcon would probably be a much better source of info on this one, perhaps he will chime in.

While it is very tempting to take a potent offensive team like BG along with 17 points, I don't think they have recovered from the implosion against Minnesota. The defense, while improved, is probably not good enough to force turnovers against Boise St. The over is starting to look good now that it has gone down to 57.5.

Strictly a weather play here as the change of venue to Dallas will still see steady 30mph winds and rain. The Falcons should have a big edge on the ground.

Unfortunately the rains in Akron do not appear that they will end anytime soon. As a matter of fact, they are projected to be heavier around time of kickoff. I'm buying back my entire 5 unit play on the total bet I made at over 58. I'm just not going to risk a major play in less than ideal conditions. At least I have a small shot at a middle.

Akron /Ball State under 60 (5 units)

On it for the same exact reasons. The conditions now make them the favorite in my opinion.

Best of luck.
