Been on a roll lately after being on a little slump...
Central Michigan -5(bought hook): Lost a heart breaker at Kent St. BG is undermanned and I dont think Kevin Netter can carry a team like Chris Kaman can. Too much adversity for Dakich to handle with all his star players going down with injuries. I think this is a generous number - actually is 5.5 but dont feel like getting hook
. It`ll be interesting to see the Kaman/Netter match-up as that will be the entertaining part of the game....but of course, this game lies on the shoulders of JR Wallace and Mike Manciel. These 2 gurads keep on producing, despite losing at Kent - they played a hell of a game. And going against BG RESERVE guards, this should be a easy double digit win...
Eastern Michigan +8.5: Again looking at the match-ups here. Obvisouly Eastern doesnt have the guards to guard Akrons supertalented guards, but on the flip side of things - Akron may score lots of points but they also just give up tons of points too. Speaking of match-ups....who`s gonna guard Ryan Prillman??? Byron Thompson?? Akron still non-theless played a 2 OT game, and that`ll change things a bit, then again last time I picked a game based on OT theory - I lost
so let`s hope it goes different this time
Buffalo +13.5: No reason really...I mean I do have reasons buttt just a total gut feeling pick.
Northern Illinois -3(bought hook): Marcus Smallwood and PJ Smith are gonna be a HANDFUL and I mean that in a nice way
I know very few have heard of these 2 and not many have seen them play, but if your a true basketball fan - you`d appreciate what they bring to the court everygame. They play hard and aggressive. Akron did a HELL of a job containing PJ Smith which I thought Akron had no shot in hell of doing. "I thought that for the first 34 minutes, we didn't play Northern Illinois basketball," Huskie head coach Rob Judson said. "The last six minutes we showed a lot of character. We made a lot of big shots. This is a tough loss. The second greatest emotion is losing." That character is one of those turning points IMO for the Huskies. They finally had a game where adversity kicked in...and they responded DESPITE the loss. If NIU can just contain Matt McCollom and Chris Williams then this should be a easy win. Then again...easier said then done when it comes to Chris Williams. Williams LOVES shooting 3 pointers and doesnt drive the lane as much as ya think he would
Kent St/Western Michigan - Iam just gonna play the line movement. My brain and heart says Western Michigan - Iam not ready to lay 6 points to Antonio Gates though....will have a pick tomorrow
