Department to hold 9,000 tickets for expected student turnout
Oct. 21, 2003
Bowling Green, Ohio - The BGSU athletic department has announced that public sale for all reserved seat and general admission tickets for Saturday's 4 p.m. football game featuring #23 Bowling Green and #12 Northern Illinois has stopped. While the sale to the public has ended, the department is expecting a student turnout of more than 9,000 and is prepared to accommodate those who present a valid BGSU student ID once the gates open at 2:30 p.m.
"I think this is a tremendous situation for us and the entire University community," said BGSU Director of Athletics Paul Krebs. "Our students have historically made up close to a third of our average attendance at home football games and their support means a lot to our team. It should make for an outstanding Family Weekend on our campus."
Last year, home football games would attract more than 5,000 students per contest.
Student Ticket Policy Statement From BGSU Athletics For This Weekend's Football Game
"While the BGSU vs. NIU game has officially sold out, the procedure for BGSU students will not change from any other home football game. Students with a VALID ID that are registered for the Fall Semester will be admitted to the game after showing their ID at the gate. All students will be checked at the gate. No valid students will be turned away and standing room areas have been identified in the unlikely case that there are no seats available. As with all of our fans for Saturday, students are encouraged to get to the game and enter the gates early to ensure themselves enough time to comfortably get to their seats and get situated prior to kick off. Gates open at 2:30 p.m."
