they achieved something no other program in the country has.
losing to cal-davis in both football AND now basketball :mj07:
that's quite an accomplishment.

UC Davis had a brutal preseason schedule so far to get ready for this game.

tough losses to northern arizona, dartmouth, harvard, and sacramento st.

1-4 after tonight.

the aggies should be ranked now i'd imagine.

serious question. you think its trent johnson? or is the talent just not there. im actually a bit perplexed because i tend to think theyve got some good players on that team that are capable of finishing in the top 3 or 4 in the pac10. but theyre taking some bad, bad, BAD losses to start the season.

honestly, when Mike Montgomery left, all the recruits did as well. They have some talent, but no one is lining up to play there. Their gym sucks, i've been told their facilities aren't that great, and i could be way wrong on that, just 2 hand knowledge if i remember it correctly.

To answer your question, i honestly don't know. But with little fan base, a lousy gym, and no recruits and an unproven coach whats there to like. They could finish 5th or better because the Pac-10 is brutal after Arizona and Washington. I'm not sold on UCLA. USC, Oregon, Oregon St., Wazzu, and ASU are all down.

LOVE what montgomery is doing in Golden St., perfect fit for him.

No Cal
Rec Hall was rockin tonite. LOL.

Went to the game tonite. Stanford looked horrible. Couldn't shoot a lick and they were getting some good looks. Grunfeld especially. He had 3 or 4 wide open looks from 3 and didn't hit any.

I really don't think they have much talent at all. Decent guard play and decent center in Haryaz but didn't see any depth at all and no other big men semmed very capable. Don't see how this team was ranked 13 preseason.

As for UCD, they are in their 2nd year of D-1 ball and are only a few years into offering scholarships. They only go about 6 deep and 3 of them are freshman. They join the Big West next year I think and one thing I will say for sure is that they will have a pretty good home court advantage as Rec Hall only holds around 5-6,000 and the students are given a whole half lower section down to the floor similar to Duke. Good atmosphere to watch some ball for sure.
