Between Green Bay and Iowa City
NCAA YTD: 6-8 (-2.86*)
NFL YTD: 5-3 (+1.70*)

I liked last week's NCAA and NFL cards, but posted that I was extremely shy about pulling the trigger on most of the plays while out of my normal routine on Friday-Saturday-Sunday while in Green Bay. I was duly cautious, and after definitely feeling I missed out on a couple of solid plays on Saturday, I managed to get them back on Sunday and Monday - although I wasn't hurt on the bottom line, it still feels like a missed opportunity . . . I can't claim the same good feeling about this week's NCAA and NFL cards, but I'm working with what's there.

Syracuse(-6') over Miami/Ohio (1*)
- - The Carrier Dome is a tough place to visit under the best of circumstances, but this hardly qualifies. A host that has lost only to two undefeated teams and has been fundamentally sound and improving every week has to arrive with a nice bounce in their step; the visitor seems more than a little ticked about their efforts, but has been neither fundamentally sound nor improving every week. I like the Orange to bring home the bacon at home.

Akron(-17) over North Texas State (1*)
- - The Zips ONLY game in the Rubber Bowl before October 21 makes this a scary spot for the humble visitor.

Louisville(-14) over Kansas State (1*)
- - I don't think Kansas State is as hapless as some seem to think, but I see no shortage of mismatches in this one. With a shocking blemish at South Florida last year, I look for the Cardinals to sustain for their young QB through a critical road test on the heels of a seismic (but overdue for Petrino's program) trouncing of Miami.

Baylor(-11) over Army (1*)
- - I know what I know, and Baylor is a way better team than Army across the the board and they will fight like marines in this spot to prove it. I don't know exactly how they emerge and get it done, but they get my money.
