A Staten Island man went berserk yesterday inside a Wendy's restaurant in The Bronx after he swallowed part of a dead mouse mixed in his bowl of chili.
Charles Black Jr., 36, was arrested inside the fast-food restaurant at 2703 East Tremont Ave. after he exploded into a fit of rage against workers behind the counter.
"All I tried to do was get some water," Black told The Post. "But all they wanted to do was get rid of the evidence."
The hairy incident started around 2 p.m. after Black and his girlfriend Sadqua Eshols, 28, stopped by the eatery for lunch.
Black said that when he swallowed part of the critter with a spoonful of chili, he ran up to the counter desperately seeking a cup of water.
When workers ignored his request, Black went ballistic - tossing around a chair and cursing out the manager - before passing out on the floor.
"I was hysterical," he admitted. "Something like this had never happened to me before. I took a bite out of a mouse."
Eshols said she was about to call 911 when two undercover cops who had walked into the restaurant minutes before calmed Black down before arresting him.
Black was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where he underwent an exam. He was later booked at the 45th Precinct and charged with menacing.
The mouse and the bowl were taken to the Health Department for tests, police sources said.
When The Post called the restaurant last night, a man who identified himself only as the manager refused to comment on the matter.
A Wendy's spokesperson did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
Black said he will never eat at a Wendy's again.
"I'm still shocked," he said. "It was horrible."
