Rhode Island is the third state in the nation and the first on the East coast to allow marijuana sales to chronically ill patients. What?s the big deal you say?

[Soap Box/] There are some people in government who don?t like the 10th Amendment, and if they had it their way the 10th Amendment would be repealed immediately. They feel that there should be no limits whatsoever on the power of the federal government.

If the state wants to legalize marijuana, that should be up to that state?s representatives to decide for their constituency.

If some states want homosexual marriage, then they can have it. If not, then they don?t have to honor it. Let the people vote with their feet as to which state they want to live. Unfortunately, too many Americans have been indoctrinated and do not care about States' rights and individual liberty.

Besides, if someone feels they need marijuana to relive pain from some horrible disease, let him have it for crying out loud. I part with a lot of conservatives who say there?s no proof marijuana provides any medical benefits, because I don?t know one way or the other.

I say, so what? If someone is suffering from cancer even thinks it will help, what?s the big deal? The world isn?t going to come to an end if he smokes a joint.[/Soap Box]
