What are the chances that the POW's held by Iraq will come home safe and sound? I have seen plenty of Chuck Norris movies, but let's be real, do they stand a chance?

I think it really depends on who is really in charge of the POW's. There are many in the Iraqi army we are talking with, including high ranking officers, that would like to have a place at the table post-Saddam. If these guys are in a position to look-out for our prisoners, we might see them again alive. If a devouted Saddam follower is in charge of our prisoners, I fear we will not see these brave folks again. 25 or so POW's were taken in Gulf War I and all returned home safely. However, a toppled Saddam was not the outcome of that war. Whole different dynamic.

I've thought about this a lot lately, just pray.

One correction. They still have one of ours from 91 war. We had some not make it from Nam. But the lenght of that war caused some of that. Also in Nam we were fighting against some gorillia groups that followed no laws. I believe we will get these folks back. We must have faith. Remember most did have there face put on TV. That was wrong but can work in there favor. We know and so does the world they have them. Some high ranking officer does not want to be shot after the war for not taking care of them. They may suffer. They may have broken bones. They may have electric shock done in some very nasty places. But they have a better idea now days of what can happen. There was little training in Korea. They had more but could have used even more for Nam. I pray all goes well.

COuldnt tell ya one way or the other. But what I see as a possible scenario down the road...

They are used for Iraqi propanda, shown on tv as the evil american, or put in front of buildings as human shields.

As the war comes to a close, a bullett in the back of the head from their captors as one final "F*CK YOU" to GW Bush.
Of course, they will then claim that the POW's were kept in a residential area and our error prone smart bombs must have hit the area and killed them.

Disgusting, but a possibility.

I think once they have been viewed on TV alive and well their chances of coming home increase dramatically. As no Iraqi personell left after war is over want to be held accountable for their deaths--but Marine has valid point of housing them in bomb targeted areas being grave concern.Heard one former POW from gulf stated that is exactly what they did back then.
