Im a litle jacked up about how the marlins are playing now. A lot of people are not suprised by this team and were hopeing they would play like they are now. A very big problem they had at the start of the season was the middle relief just getting hammered. But now Micelli and his 7.15 ERA is on the bench. Boy things turned around when that happened. Philly has realy done well against the marlins in the earlier series, most importantly they won the close games. But now they have slowed down; up to thursday there record was 5-11 last 16 games. They also were able to stifle the marlins running game with Lieberthal catching and he did a great job. And the phils starting pitching has gone sour. Think they miss Lieberthal.

Phillies have 8 games in 10 days against the marlins and 3 against the braves in between lot of pressure to try and keep in 1st place when not playing well.
Marlins are just the other way 11 wins and 5 loses last 16 games and have pickd up ground on Phillies. The pitching has greatly improved all around, starters at 4.07 ERA. and middle relieif and closer at 2.64 ERA. Alfonseca the closer has a 1.99 ERA. The offense has started to hit well, with Floyd amoung the leaders in the NL hitting catagories. Tony Perez has gotten this team going in the right direction since taking over for Boles.
Tonight Dempster goes for the marlins and I watched the last time he threw. The first few innings he strugled with walks and control, then after that he was pitching like last years all star again. He is 2-1last 3 with a 4.22ERA to many walks have hurt him.
Wolf for Phillies is 0-3 with 6.63 ERA.
