Did not get a chance to post this yesterday, which was the anniversary of his murder. This is a speech that Bobby Kennedy gave the day King was killed.

More than anything, listening to this, aside from making me feel sorrow and hope, makes me despair over the glib country we have become. I can't think of a politician or leader in this country that rises above policy or pettiness when they speak.
I regret not living in a time when people really said things when they spoke.

The mo-fo was friggin quoting a relevant poem in response to the death of a civil rights icon. Can you imagine any speech today, by any politician that is spoken from the heart and not just run through focus groups and full of nonsense.

Take a listen:

very powerful stuff. thank you very much for posting that.

you're absolutely right; it's sad to think that no politician would ever deliver a speech like that today. most all of our elected 'leaders' today are but pale shadows of men like the kennedys. today's politicians are far more concerned with reelection than they are with doing what's right for our country.
