Assault rifles were banned from 1994 to 2004. Then Republicans ended the ban.
If the ban had remained, the Florida school shooting, the Vegas shooting, the Orlando shooting would never have happened.
Work together? How's that going to happen when Trump and other Republicans have their hands deep in the NRA's pockets? Trump took $21 million from the NRA.
We banned full auto in 1933. Now we can't ban high cap mag assault rifles?
Get your head out of the sand. There's no "working together". Republicans have their noses up the NRA's ass, and their hands in the NRA pockets.
The solution has a few simple steps:
Ban all weapons with a magazine capacity greater than three rounds. Confiscate the rest. Australia rounded up 650,000 weapons. Care to look at their mass killing rate?
Speedy trial followed by public immolation of all mass killers. Kill today, get a gasoline bath and match tomorrow.
Ban the NRA and fry Wayne LaPierre in boiling oil.
Problem solved.
The step are/were simple?....I'm all ears.......Why aren't they in place or offered over they past years?
This is...........sadly..........all to accurate. The Republican party is neck deep in blame here and nothing is going to change with them in office. The only thing I would ask is the Dems afford us a reasonable candidate in three years. Not Hillary, not Pelosi, not Oprah, find us a reasonable candidate and maybe we see some real change........maybe.
Some have been put in place - a little bit.
Full auto guns have been banned since 1933.
Assault rifles were banned 1994-2004.
Concealed guns are banned in some locales.
Armor piercing ammo is banned most places.
And everything else has been offered at one time or another, but didn't sell at the voting booth.
Why hasn't more been done?
1. Fear mongering. You need to be armed or bad guys will break into your house, rob and kill you.
The government wants to enslave you. YOU need guns to prevent that.
2. Folk lore - John Wayne/ Dirty Harry/Bruce Willis movie heroes.
3. A fantastic snow job by the NRA. You have a right to own guns. You need to own guns. We will protect your right. Be afraid, very, very afraid.
4. Bribery (aka "campaign contributions") by the NRA, GOoA and others.
5. Cowardice by political candidates. Don't vote for John Smith. He will take your guns and then the bad guys will kill you.
But you already know all that, right?

Trump won't run in 2020, the Republicans know he couldn't beat Mickey Mouse next time around. They will find someone else or conceded the office.
I read it....I have very little use of guns, especially in the hands of many that are unstable to start with.....If there was a vote on the table to rid certain weapons or all I'm ready to place my vote.....
Now we both know that isn't on the table now nor will it be, so lets get back to reality and figure out a plan that may work with the hand we are given.....:0008
I mentioned before, until one of these slaughters occures on Capitol Hill, it will be a very slow change.
