Just LOL as Iowa isn't exactly a hotbed for great basketball, but these 2 on the same team... shocking the went undefeated with 2 AA's on the same team in Iowa of all places. I live by Iowa and brother is married to a girl from Iowa, but they're not the best hotbed for b-ball talent and yet those 2 on the same team... WOW!

Everyone flocked to see Ames Little Cyclones play when these 2 were here. They cruised thru the season undefeated and won all their tournament games by double digits. Fun times !!!!!

Well yeah! I'm not surprised, they could have likely beaten anyone in US almost with those 2 guys alone. Just can't believe they both came from Iowa and played on the same team. I like Iowa as a state, but it's not a hotbed of basketball talent.

Heck, where I live in KC, you can take players who didn't go to KU, MU, Kansas State, and almost make a team that could beat anyone... Alex Burks from Grandview who not plays for Jazz, but would be a JR. in college, Stutz from Wichita State, Weems from Missouri State, Trevor Releford for Bama, Morrison from Oral Roberts... KC isn't the best hotbed of talent either, but some solid kids have come from here and of course KU, KSU, and MU are overlooking them.

Well, we have all seen quality kids blossom if they are in the right program, right coach, right school.

College is a maturing process and some of these little shits go in there with a big head and are allowed to strut around with both "heads" on display.

It certainly helps when Doug's dad is a Quality coach and a great guy. I played in a golf tournament with him when he was at UNI. Just a class individual. MANY people thought the move to Ia State was a bad move for him. He communicates SO well with the kids at a mid major.

That's what turned Iowa's program to shit. You had King Steve strut in there and Bowlsby allowed him to do crap that eventually flushed the program down the shitter. Now you have to go through years to bring it back.

Fuck both of those douchebags. The handling of the Pierre Pierce situation was a serious black mark on the program. :nono:

:toast:

Then the Todd Lickliter era--

at least it was short. Showing some signs of turning the corner finally this last month. And at least they are entertaining to watch win or lose. It was painful watching them lose all those 51-45 games when Lick was in town....:sadwave:

Well Kirk Hinrich and Nick Collison were from Iowa and they went to KU.... just surprised you have a lot of talent in Iowa and they don't go to Iowa or Iowa State ever.

Oh we have some decent ball players but not like Harrison Barnes. Alot of upside. Jason Bohannon was Mr. Basketball in Iowa years ago and would NO WAY go to Iowa because his dad was screwed over by the Hawks. He initially said he was going to UNI then changed and went off to Wisky.

The old days, Raveling and later Dr. Tom recruited so well. It takes years to nurture that kind of program. Then...... King Steve and Bowlsby :violin:
