McGirt fading continues...
WBC #14 middleweight contender James McGirt Jr. (19-1-1, 9 KOs) and Marcus Upshaw (8-3-1, 3 KOs) battled to an unpopular ten round draw. Southpaw McGirt dropped Upshaw with a straight left in round one but generally had a difficult time, getting floored himself in the final minute. Scores were 94-94 twice and 95-93 for Upshaw whose late surge fired up the crowd.
boxingscene: Some observers felt he was lucky to escape with a draw.
Damn, I forgot all about the card and didn't look for a line. Jr is just BEGGING to be knocked out again.
Is Sr training Malignaggi again for the Nov 22 bout with Hatton? That's been a dreadful pairing. Any other notable McGirt Sr bouts coming up?
