First race Entries

David Brower's picks: 5-1-2-4

1 Kentucky Rebel(L) Broke in his first try for the new barn. Right back in for the $40K tag now and he is capable of a wakeup call. Drew inside.
2 Kennans Josh(L) Not enough success down at Freehold. Back to Club Med where he was claimed. His key weapon is speed, so expect more.
3 Talk Forever(L) Just doesn't seem sharp enough right now. Let's pass.
4 Dynamite Express(L) Taking a dip on the price ladder here, but he still wasn't Timmy T's choice. Just 1-10 on the season and in need of lot more.
5 Winslow Hustler(L) Flew home last time to win fresh off the Rucker claim. That was a standout effort and I'd have tough time going against.
6 Armbro Acquire(L) Had the better trip than #5 last week, but clearly not the better kick. Not sure he can get by, having drawn outside that foe now.
7 Spirited Scoot(L) This is too high for him, so I will pass yet again.
8 Fly Fly Buckeye(L) Not the most reliable performer out there right now. Coming off another flat effort and he might need another drop. Not for me.
9 Synide(L) Yes, he drops a tick and that's what I've been waiting for, but the post is the killer tonight. He can blast and if DM does, his chances go up.
10 Speed Professor(L) Dube's choice over #9, but I think they're both in tough spots tonight. In need of some serious luck to have an upset shot.

2 Second race Entries

David Brower's picks: 1-3-4-5

1 Springlake Artist Note Sears' choice of this one over #9. That's important and this horse loves this track. He's ready with start under belt.
2 Up Front Kyle(L) Pulled the upset shocker when last seen, but that came against much weaker than this. Best asset is the post. Keeps up?
3 Silver Flash(L) Talk about standout miles! How bout his effort last week? Very, very good and that back class is resurfacing. Very dangerous again.
4 Boo Yah(L) I thought his qualifier was better than it looked on paper. He's got back class as well, but will he need one? That is the question.
5 Toucam Sam(L) We saw a bit better gear at the end of last week's mile. That could be the hint he's ready to turn things around. Hopes hot pace.
6 Sea Dragon(L) Did better down at Freehold, but that doesn't bode well for him here. He's a one move type that's at mercy of both pace and trip.
7 Walter Pay A Ton(L) Not one of my favorites and no recent wins. Pass.
8 Oragami Artist(L) Another of the closers in here, hoping to get lucky late. It's not out of the question, but it's no lock either. Needs a hot pace.
9 Hennessy Hanover(L) Brushed and crushed to beat up on weaker for Sears last week. Now, he steps up, moves out and loses Brian. Your call?
10 Go Both Ways(L) It's been a long year for this horse so far. Just one win. A switch to bad post and he's out of age-restricted races. This isn't easy.

3 Third race Entries

David Brower's picks: 1-3-4-6

1 Costa Rica Kid Tough trip down at Dover and he couldn't hack it. I can't exactly say he'll be better on big track. We'll find out tonight.
1A Major Duke Sears ends up on this one and he was easily collared by #4 in last two qualifiers. Will that change? Perhaps not. It's your call, folks.
2 A Little Crazy(L) Since he had post nine on Thursday, I suspect he'll go in this spot. JC opted off. He needed last start. Probably needs another.
3 Bullville Powerful Got off to great start in career last year at two. There is some talent here and he also packs strong speed. Expect it.
4 Hands To Yourself Made up good ground in that Yonkers final. His qualifiers so far this year have looked even better. Plenty of ability here.
5 Forthoseabouttorok Not an easy spot for this horse. In against some seriously talented foes and he struggled in first Big M try. Pass.
6 Trouble Hanover Exits a key race, and check to see how Duke Did It did on Thursday. I don't like this post, however, or loss of Sears.
1B Idle Hour This appears to be the power of the entry and he's settled into a nice gear so far at age three. I expect he'll be very good tonight.

4 Fourth race Entries

David Brower's picks: 4-8-9-5

1 Eazeon Downtheroad(L) Coming off several clunkers, so I think we need to see an improved effort before we can hop back on board. Pass.
2 Grin Some More(L) Not sure when this guy's going to wake back up. Hasn't been overly sharp and we're just guessing. Need to see more.
3 Austin's Best(L) Not much going right in this camp right now. Pass.
4 Pansexual(L) Loved him in his last start here and he flat out stunk! That will happen now and then. MIA for a few weeks, plus in a new barn. Maybe.
5 Southwind Apex(L) Shuffled out of the race last time. Just about every other start has been a quality one. I couldn't leave out of the gimmicks.
6 Midazzler(L) Has a bit of history here, but arrives with an 0-8 record so far in 08. Wasn't Sears' pick. In need of some serious improvement now.
7 Outlaw Blues(L) There's a new barn involved here. Was awful when last seen here on the big track, so I'm not sure what to expect for tonight .
8 CR Gunsmoke(L) One of the eligible sleepers in here. From this post, it's all about the pace and trip. If it's hot and cover is live, watch out late.
9 Western Glory(L) Gets the call as fave, in wide open race. He's probably the most consistent of these, but he must do it from bad post.
10 Sony Hanover(L) Flew by these when lowered to this level. For that, he's not exactly "rewarded" with post 10. This will be even tougher now.

5 Fifth race Entries

David Brower's picks: 6-8-5-9

1 Print It(L) Ships up to try the big track for first time and gets Sears to boot. He must have liked this guy down at Dover. We'll see if good enough here.
2 Fenman(L) Shuffled last time, but with a bit of minor late pace. It's all about the trip with him at this level. I still think it's a notch too tough. We'll see.
3 Carr's Character(L) Was on quite a roll until he tossed in that clunker two weeks ago. More important, Tetrick opted off tonight to stick with #8.
4 Allstar Blue Jean(L) What's happened to his form? I wish I knew. It's been so bad of late that even the loyal Sears opted off. Needs wakeup call.
5 Soul Chaser(L) Been just as strong as #6 lately, Outkicked him once on 3/29. It figures to be those two again, but one will get the jump on the other.
6 Out On A Bender(L) How bout his rally last week! It was a sparkler. The post will insure that he's close enough. Would be very hard to go against.
7 J K CU Later(L) I still haven't seen enough from him. Even tried speed in last and came up empty late. That's simply not good enough at this level.
8 Aboycalledsu N(L) Absolutely flew home, but from too far back in last. This race figures to set up in similar fashion. Must find way to get closer.
9 Hard To Beat If I were Eric Goodell, and I looked at this field, I would probably take a shot and blast. It's the only chance he has to win this.

6 Sixth race Entries

David Brower's picks: 5-4-8-6

1 Active Trading Struggled the last time he faced these Open pacers. Had a vicious qualifier since, so the situation might be different. Take look.
2 Test Flight(L) Simply got rolling too late last time and that was due to his very bad cover. Drew inside again, but is stepping up. It won't be easy.
3 Art At Heart(L) Still too steppy for my taste and I will pass here again.
4 Takeshigemichi(L) Suffered a shuffle last week, but flashed some better late pace. It might be time to start thinking about using this guy. Talented.
5 Ridgeline(L) Can't really fault this horse in any way. Came storming home last week, arguably with more pace than the winner. Take right back? Yes.
6 Noble Falcon(L) Proved his win was no fluke, but even I will admit that it was another perfect trip and setup. However, he's got confidence now.
7 Rockinrollin Now(L) Outraced his odds last week with a fairly good late kick. It's all about the post again. He must find his way free smoothly.
8 Spin Rate Not sure why, but Andy sat in with him last week and his patience was not rewarded. Moves outside here and switches pilots. Use.
9 Forensic Z Tam Plenty of back class here, but a tough post to deal with. I doubt he's going to fire out and I'm not sure he outkicks the closers.
10 Semalu Express Stuck with poor post again and he's up against it.

7 Seventh race Entries

David Brower's picks: 5-1-3-4

1 Kings Road(L) It's been a very long year so far, for this unlucky gelding. Maybe he can turn things around from the pole now. He has the talent.
2 Odds On B P Not enough punch when hiked up to this level. This spot remains difficult, but he'll take some action with Timmy T aboard.
3 Joey Rico Dropped and popped last week, as expected, but at a very short price. In reality, the hike up may not be that much. Usable again.
4 Pj Count On Luck Down from Canada and into a fairly strong field. I guess we watch the board, because he might be ready for Camp Croghan.
5 Scapa N(L) Note his last improved effort. It might be the hint we've been waiting for. With that said, I would advise using this fella in the gimmicks.
6 Eyes On Kassa(L) Still dull and still unusable. Have to pass yet again.
7 Allamerican Daddy(L) Let everybody down last week. Cruised along at his own clip and basically folded when they came to him. Not good effort.
8 Little Mister Enjoyed some nice live cover last week and made Joey work to hold on. That showed me something, but it's a much tougher post.
9 Mr Michael A fresh claim here and he's got speed, but what he might not have is the stamina for this spot. I guess we'll find out.
10 Golden Mattjesty(L) Still regressing and still unplayable for now. Pass.

Eighth race Entries

David Brower's picks: 5-6-10-2

1 Dragon Island(L) MIA since March 22 and that can't be a good thing. The price drop isn't very encouraging either. Not sure what to do here.
2 Incredible Art Speaking of price drops...how bout this one? If not for the barn's recent resurgence, he might be a pass. Ready for wakeup call?
3 Burrell A(L) Just can't find a way to get the job done lately. Struggled home in first go for new barn and I guess we've got to eliminate him again.
4 Mr Romantic(L) We know he's got speed, but lately, it's the stamina that's been in question. Not a ton of speed in here. Maybe he can steal a split.
5 Magic Force(L) That wasn't a bad try last time, considering post 10 and the traffic troubles. I would be willing to toss him onto the ticket tonight. Use.
6 Northern Edge(L) Basically reversed his form last time, but the effort was so big, that we almost have to use him again. Sears' choice. Use.
7 Sam's Illusion(L) A fresh claim by a hot barn right now. That demands an extra look. However, I feel Sam did tail off a touch. Must bounce back.
8 Joe Somebody(L) Has been tiring and remains a pass in my opinion.
9 Amber Fella(L) Where's he going from out here? Probably not very far, since Sears opted off this week and he's not exactly loaded with speed.
10 Muhammad Ali N(L) Had NO shot last time, but note the reclaim by Fusco. That's a good thing, but post 10 is a bad thing. Mixed feelings.

9 Ninth race Entries

David Brower's picks: 4-7-1-10

1 Swami Sayz(L) The Swami still seems sharp and had a tough trip last week. I'm willing to give him a pass for that. Not sure I like the pole, though.
2 Redstone Ruckus(L) Always a pass in my book. Can only win if everything sets up for him and it happens once or twice a meet here.
3 Object Of Art(L) First time Lasix here, so that explains the last clunker. I guess I wouldn't be shocked with a much improved effort. It's possible.
4 Landmark Hall(L) Silva hopped in and took the veteran for a small tag. Remember, he's the guy that got this horse rolling. Takes BIG step up price.
5 Stately's Hoss(L) Back from some small track starts. Did manage to win the Yonkers Open once. He's not out of this and drew ideal midpack post.
6 Coris Lucky Guy(L) Down from Canada off a couple of clunkers. Not sure what I want to do with Cori just yet. I say we just watch one first.
7 Candy's Pool(L) I know that last line looks bad, but it really wasn't. Had just enough sneaky pace in traffic to warrant an extra look. Consider that.
8 O Narutac Pat(L) Moving back up off the claim, but I will pass out here.
9 All Hall(L) Claimed every week. Solid every week. Has speed to overcome the post. Usually very hard to leave off the ticket. Your call?
10 Model Rellim(L) Went the mile of the weekend in first start for Croghan barn. Lures Pierce off #1, but it's post 10 again and he must prove it again.

10 Tenth race Entries

David Brower's picks: 1-4-2-8

1 Scoozi(L) Had the prep. Moves inside and gets Sears back. All of that spells go for tonight and I wouldn't dare leave him off the ticket in here.
2 St Lads Kingpin(L) Note his last improved try. Maybe that's what we're waiting for. He could step up with more at a price tonight. Drew nice post.
3 Brother Vinny(L) I don't think he's got the stamina right now. I will pass.
4 Jeremy's Successor(L) Pretty solid for the most part at this level lately. Owns one strong move in any mile, but timing and trip will be critical again.
5 Herzon(L) Ran into Bob's Alibi over at Yonkers. No disgrace. He did pretty well in that series. Drew ideal midpack post. I can make a positive case.
6 Best Magic Rapidly advancing up the class ladder, but is this finally too high? I think so, but I've been wrong before. Outracing his odds lately.
7 Western Smoocher Has now lost four in a row, so that's a negative. It's been good, long run so far this year, but at short price, let's go against.
8 Traczar Found top gear a bit too late last week. At least he proved he belonged in for this tag. Tonight's problem might be the tough post.
9 Funny Deacon Exits a fine effort where he stole one. Unfortunately, this is about a three-level class hike, plus post nine. That's too much.
10 Private Wealth(L) Looks like the longshot of the bunch in dreaded post 10.

11 Eleventh race Entries

David Brower's picks: 10-1-5-2

1 Don't Fool Me Now Couldn't grind down a well-rated Joey last week. Still no disgrace, and I will add some points if that foe did well in the 7th.
2 Cosmic Illusion N(L) Woke back up down at Dover recently. Drew a nice, cozy post here and gets Timmy T back. I can make a case here.
3 No Spin Zone(L) Was in a tougher class down at Dover, but now finds his way to Club Med and wasn't Tetrick's pick. Might be up against it here.
4 Kathryn Dancer A(L) Flashed some good speed last week, after the sick scratch, but then got lost come crunch time. Needs more stamina.
5 Johnny Midnight He's got big speed too! Always a piece in situations like this, so don't even think of leaving him off the ticket. A must use.
6 Red Hot Yankee(L) Another taking a big jump up in class. I feel this may be too tough, but sharp young horses are often dangerous. It's your call.
7 That's Justice(L) Always hoping for that hot pace and some live cover. If he gets them both, he will come charging late for a piece.
8 Cardmaster(L) Never really involved last time. Stuck outside again.
9 Cactus Creek(L) Wasn't making up enough ground last week, but the bigger problem is post. He's going to need more early gear to get into it.
10 Jim's Guy Exiting some tougher spot. Has Sears chosen this one, I might have liked a lot more. He's still got a chance if he can blast out.

12 Twelfth race Entries

David Brower's picks: 5-4-6-7

1 Minor De Best(L) Never had much luck here, so I always hesitate to try him on the big track. I do, however, like the pole. He's got chance to reach.
2 Bullvilleintherain(L) Remains a big longshot and a pass in my book.
3 Yukon Bobby Not sure what to do with Bobby. Started back well, with that rallying 2nd, but then never really got rolling last week. It's your call.
4 Village Ace N(L) Jumps up with a big one every now and then. He's got reliable speed. There are several question marks in here. Send him, Mark.
5 Metekhi N Yes, he hasn't raced in three weeks, BUT that last race was a lot better than it looks and this is the 'Ol Croghan drop and pop. Must use.
6 Dream Wave(L) Squeezes in for this condition. That's usually a good thing. He rallied nicely upon return. I would definitely advise using again.
7 Armbro Dowry Pretty good in the first NJ try down at Freehold. Takter immediately moves him here. Probably thinks he'll be better here.
8 Sand Gogh(L) It's been one story or another with this horse all year. Scratches. Tough trips. Excuses, etc. I know I've had enough of him.
9 Sansome Hanover(L) Owns only a closing move in his tank and will need everything to go exactly right to have a chance. That's not likely.
10 Winbak Rustler(L) Where's he going from post 10 with no speed? Probably not very far, after watching his first try over the oval. Your call.
