Today I'm going to play Memphis -2.5 Don't think I really want to watch too much of this game as both need to replace many starters and it may be a ugly game.
On offense Memhis returns All-American candidate DeAngelo Williams, but must replace QB Wimprine with junior Patrick Byrne who is more athletic. Memphis must also replace 4 starters on offensive line from last season. 3 of the top 5 recivers are also must need to replaced from last season.
On defense Memphis returns 7 starters including several key backups. So their defense must improve from last season in which they ranked 90th in total defense. All 3 linebackers return including DL Marcus West which will hold down this defense.
For Miss only 4 starters return on their offense from last season which ranked 103rd in scoring offense and 77th in total offense. They are also implementing a new west coast offense to try and help this problem, but don't expect it to be clicking in the first game.
On defense Miss is returning 7 starters and is anchored by linebacker Patrick Willis and 4 year starting CB Travis Johnson. But nothing special will come about this defense as they really didn't prove anything last season.
Overalll this will be an ugly game, but I think this will be a pretty good play on Memphis as I feel DeAngelo Williams will pace memphis to a victory by at least a TD.
