Wake/Mem -3
The tigers finished last year with a disappointing loss in the tourney. Nevertheless, they will be back this year. Side note: If the high school and sophmore rules were in effect for college Bball this would be memphis starting line-up this year: PG Burks SG Dejuan Wagner WG Rodney Carney/Anthony Rice PF Qyntel Woods C Kendrick Perkins, what a shame these players in the NBA would have benefited from playing college, yes they are making millions, but they are sitting on the bench and not getting any better. Sorry about the rant.
This years tiger team will resemble coach Cal's old teams at Umass. They are without a big man and at times will play 4 guards. Burks, Carney, Rice, Richmond, and Banks. Gentlemen, Sean Banks will be an excellent player. He can take over a game by himself. These guys can shoot and do it well. As i said they lack depth in the middle with Duane erwin, Diarra, Theiro, and newcomer Ivan Lopez. None are proven and this will be they key for one or two to emerge as a legit threat. If this happens watch out for the tigers this year. They will be nervous in the Garden, but will calm down and do what they did last year which was beat the NC Cuse. I think Wake goes down to these tigers! Memphis +3' and ML
