Nice to see some new blood in the playoffs. In addition, to Memphis, I hope Denver hangs on as I think Portland is gonna make a late run at them for the 8th seed. In the mediocre East, it's nice to see a team like Miami now the 8th seed, passing an underachieving team like Philadelphia. And now that Danny Ainge has destroyed Boston's team and with all of Toronto's injuries, I think Cleveland has a great shot to make a run at the 8th seed.

certainly memphis not the most talented team every night, but they greatly benefit from playing 9-10 guys. furthermore, you will see memphis play poorly or stupid at times, but you will never see them loafing. the team plays hard every night which is an anomaly in the nba. plus, this team genuinely gets along. the guys seem to like each other and there is apparently no real animosity among the players. i never thought this team would be achieving like this so soon. glad to see others are taking note. it may be a little tougher for this squad in the playoffs because no player on the team is "great". paul gasol is very good but he does not get a lot of calls yet. in the playoffs, the "stars" always get the benefit of the whistle. jmo

regardless, we are excited here in memphis about this team, and i appreciate reading others comments on the team.:)

The signing of Jerry West as GM was the smartest thing the team has done. The Lakers are dumbasses for pretty much forcing him out but thats just my opinion. I laughed at his move in bringing Hubie when it happened but it looks like it was a smart move. Also made a smart move in shipping away Gooden while there were still takers for him. Unfortunately he wasted a #4 pick on him. Very fun team to watch.

Do you hear any rumors about the team bringing in Byron Scott to take over Hubie next season? Also are there any Kobe bolting to Memphis as a free agent next year rumors floating around? Its too bad they werent able to work a trade with GState to get Dampier. He would have made a nice inside presence along with Gasol.

No doubt about it fellas, this team has opened up eyes around the league. HUbie and Jerry have found something special in just over 1 yr of being together. They play Defense and score with the best of them if need be. They can play all paces of the game. But lets not count our chickens yet. There is still plenty of bball to be played and many good teams behind them HOU, PORT, DEN among a few others who could get hot and remove the grizz. This team is super young so they may not understand of the hunger needed to go far in the playoffs. I look for next year to be the year they become contenders and make a run in the playoffs. The fed-ex forum will be a nice change from the toom of doom. As far as coaching changes, you can bet your bottom dollar Hubie won't be around for that much longer. Passing out at games doesn't help the situation. But let's face it, he has done what no other coach could have dreamed of. If he doesn't get coach of the year it will be a disgrace. As far as Kobe, plenty of rumblings for a sign and trade sending Swift, Battier, and someone else, mabeye an earl watson for kobe and some cash. I say hell no we don't want that stinkin butt rapist. Stay in Cali with you glitz and glamor. One thing the grizz don't need is more perimeter players. They number 1 thing they need is a legit NBA center, but then again only about 5 teams have one of those:nono:

dampier would have been very nice. not heard about scott as a replacement. have heard pat riley's name (grrrrr) maybe they will let hube's son coach ? doubt it, but he talks and acts just like the old man. have to say kobe would be an interesting dilema. part of this team's success has stemmed from their lack of a superstar. kobe is so talented. if he gets out of the denver thing, and he didn't hurt the developement of gasol- i would try to get him. tough call though. if we had to give up swift and battier i am not sure i would do the deal. jmo
